I believe sales will be hit again after the end of the fiscal year (5/31). Some in sales were left alone during the last round to see if they could close key deals, and they might be let go after the year ends. Also, as we move into FY27 I expect a re-org/shuffle of sales teams which might result in a few more being laid off. I'm out of the loop now, but that's my expectation.

Hey, any chance Oracle can replace Larry with AI? Well, maybe not, he's not even artificially intelligent.
@OP "Suspect we'll see another round at the end of FY..."
Duh, Ya THINK so?
@sz we are in a bubble that is ready to pop. In the range of 2008/9 on steroids. It will be bad for a lot of people and the 2 major political parties will be pointing their fingers at each assigning blame. In reality, they are equally culpable.
How long before the entire country is laid off?
@qq "Hello. Customer. What. Can. I. Sell. You. Today. Take. Me. To. Your. Leader. Have. A. Nice. Day."
@ms It's a very large sales force. Oracle is adjusting who sells what every year. Oracle has many products and it's somewhat unrealistic to believe one person could do a decent job of representing all of these products to a customer. It's not unusual to hear a customer questioning why another Oracle rep is contacting them, they are already talking to a a few others. And often the case is either A.) We re-org'd B.) The last guy was fired and I'm here now. And to make the internal struggle more difficult - one person is usually trying to convince the customer that they are the "Account Lead" and talk to me about everything - even though that's usually B.S.
@ms Sales will be replaced by Ai, that's why training the Ai.
@ms
Oracle products are turnkey and sell themselves.
@hc Why would they lay off people in Sales? Did they lose interest in selling their products? I literally don't know, could someone help with this?
if true, you gotta guess it's before the Vegas expense.
June 8th.
Yep, I'd agree too - not good
Well said @gv
100%. Reorg will force sale layoffs in NA. Confirmed via SVP.
I feel the pain. However, we are overpaid, over educated cry babies. Admit it and move on with life.
@dm people will take the jobs. Trust is a thing of the past. Getting a pay check is more important than finding an employer you like. The number of long term unemployed is growing. After you have been out of work for a year or two you will take whatever job is offered.
@b5 American Tech sector is going to be dead without people, and no American will want to work in the IT sector as they cannot trust it. And IT education is going to be in decline.
@OP confirmed that there is another RIF coming on 5/31. Best wishes to all - there is a support group channel
On Slack - we have all been helping each other. Get you networking contacts in place.
100% agree with this assessment.
They will probably announce a residency requirement for the first wave.
What happens when you have way too many people, way too many managers and way too many territories !!
...and Cisco just announced $1B in "restructuring" costs.
@az Meta is always cutting too. AI is tech's GLP-1 treatment.
Meta headcount is half the one from Oracle and generates about 4 times its revenue: Oracle headcount is over bloated; expect many more deep layoffs
Meta has half the number of employees that Oracle has; Oracle will continue deep layoffs
Plan on layoffs being routine for the next couple of years. The number of employees is way higher then they want or need to be. Expect layoff followed by a re-org cycles to happen until they reach a working level with as few employees as they can run the company.
