When are we going to layoff the loudmouths who’s been directing this company down the wrong paths.
@2ey You still need to look for a new job.
@wk Till the time local employees too become expendable. You are living in la la land.
@sx, AI is the solution to offshoring. It allows local workers to get more done cheaper without offshoring the work overseas. Offshoring companies are terrified of it.
This has been a long time coming abused system. Limits on AI are needed ASAP too
@pk You are underestimating TCS, Infosys and Wipro. Offshoring will actually increase by leaps and bounds. And these companies will still able to run operations remotely only maintaining a skeleton staff in the U.S. This increase in the H1B fee will not prove to be the magic potion that Americans think it is. TCS et al will tell their employees they can’t be sent onshore because of the high price of the visa. And, there will be more than enough people available to work offshore and still get the work done. It’s a numbers game, you see.
@np I kindly disagree. Companies like TCS, Cognizant, Infosys were bringing lots of people to USA that undercut salaries. This will cease immediately. This will also allow new graduates in USA to find jobs more easily. They will have money to spend in USA. Immigrants from India were taking some of their earnings back to India anyways.
Some jobs will move back to India but this can be addressed separately.
Companies will still hire foreigners. They just won't be foreigner US residents. They will be foreigners in other countries. The demand for skilled labor will find the necessary supply wherever it's located. Offshoring will increase even more. Those high paying jobs will leave the US and the money paid will not benefit local US communities.

By stroke of pen, President Trump raises the H-1B Visa fee from $1,000 to $100,000, and directs the Secretary of Labor to revise the wage rules to make it much harder for companies to hire foreigners in replacement of American workers.
Massive win.
I head a rumor that honey and fire ants on a bald head is uncomfortable.
Nope.
But quite a few of non-effective Coforge resources shall be requested for replacement. Mostly the former Sabre non-performers. They will be moved to other Coforge customers...
