Thread regarding Honeywell International Inc. layoffs

This wave is over

When can we expect the next? Will we be given at least a few months before the next one starts?

Belligerent Poster, what is it that you want someone to say? Many people have responded based on their experience or interpretation of words from leaders, based on their years of living through similar scenarios. No one can tell you it's over except D-man himself.

No matter what anyone says, you shoot the person down and tell us to get a job as if we were all RIF'd. I believe only one poster on this thread identified themselves as having been RIF'd and is okay with it.

SO, what is your purpose? You say it's terrible for these (to your mind) disgruntled RIF'd people to come on here and instill fear of more RIFs. That is not what's happening. With a few exceptions, current employees are posting their best-guess scenarios based on experience and often some level of actual information. If it looks like a duck and quacks like a duck...we are able to identify a duck.

And seriously, if your biggest fear is getting RIF'd, you need to be nicer to the people who have been RIF'd instead of repeatedly telling them to get a job. Karma is a b–ch.

RIFs are disconnected from need, NOT based on external business conditions
Leadership HASN’T been turned over.

The trend is your friend.

Honeywell’s been RIFing for years,
RIFs are disconnected from need, based on external business conditions,
Leadership has been using RIFs along with other manipulations to keep stock going up,
Prior greed based RIFs have cut all the buffer from the Hon system,
External business conditions have worsened,
Leadership has been turned over.

The trend point to more cuts. Timing is always foggy, but there’s zero evidence that leadership has “seen the light”.

Second point, the trend is still your friend.
All your trash posts have negative reactions,
I answered your “no one answered my question” bait,
And you couldn’t respond to the content, just more stirring. So...

I’m guessing you’re relatively new to Hon and hired in from the outside into a lower level managers position. You don’t work on the value-add side of the business, so guessing Janitorial services, Security, OSHA/other regulatory compliance, etc. No contact with customers or internal value-add staff rules out Engineering, ISC, and Sales. You drank the Hon leadership koolaid and haven’t been around long enough to have invested enough of your career to be scarred by the corp betrayal yet.

Or you’re a complete outsider stirring up muck.

Wow. Name calling. You got me. Is this the proper definition? - miserably inadequate; of very low standard.
Really describes you.
Guess what? I will NOT STFU either.

“None of you have answered my question“. Ok, I will answer your question, then you can STFU scab...

Yes, it’s pathetic* that I come on here to stoke fear in remaining employees.

Happy? Now STFU, and don’t forget to take your extra rations on the way back to your 60 sq ft cubicle.

*Now the intelligent people here will know the proper use of the word pathetic. Fear is a response to having your ignorance answered with unsavory facts. But at least here, we can openly say what shills like you force folks to bottle up at work. And that is the pathetic part - we are so repressed and abused that we need the therapy of an internet psychologist because our employer is an abusive a-hole. Just like you.

For those in Aero, I thought MM email was rather clear.

More adjustments will be made based on market conditions.

For our friend who always asks for sources, I refer you the the email.

The waves are still coming in and crashing on Every shore this is NOT over! The lists were drawn for our SBU back in March/April. They are still working now on getting rid of people from that list. This is not a guess, this is factual info. Depending on 2Qtr results they will be making additional adjustments, you can count on that. Do your best job every day, look out for yourself and family. There is nothing we can do about the situation, we can control how we respond. Yep it su*ks!

Why don't you start a new thread and ask the question more specifically? State the SBG or SBU you're interested and ask, nicely, that only people with actual, first-hand information reply. And be aware that the information you're looking for might come from someone who was riffed but still has good connections.

You too. Great point. You got me now. Apparently we are getting a RIF every single month now. That’s the consensus, right? We just had two and now it’s your job to get on here everyday and talk $hit.

How do you know that no one posting here still works for the company? With all the different scenarios proffered, how do you know that none of them are right? Why don't you just write what you want to hear, and I'm sure someone will come along to validate it.

None of you have answered my question. You don’t work for this company anymore. Don’t you find it rather pathetic that you’re this obsessed with trying create fear for the rest of us? I’m sure we are going to have a RIF ever single month now according you’re “ insider knowledge” AKA whatever you come up with off the top of your head.

Hon has been RIFing company wide, even during good macro economic conditions.
Those conditions turn sour, and a key market for the company has been skewered.

How can folks ask if there will be more RIFs?! Of course there will be more RIFs. Economic downturns don’t reduce risk!

Even more incredulous, there’s someone trying to call out folks that feel there’s more coming??? I guess a senior leader has taken it personal that the minions are waking up and putting his bonus at risk...

“General Mangers and other senior managers) will take place so they are in place before the beginning of the 20121 calendar year“

So we are waiting 18,101 years until the “RIF”?

I love how people put the most ridiculous predictions on here, like they have any idea what is going to happen. Guess what?? Just because you write your little doom and gloom comment it really doesn’t mean jack at the end of the day. Go find a job!!!

Far from over likely. The HR stooge or the managerial bootlicker would like the lemmings to calm down and work until they are ready to dispose of them. Smart employees know better and will be take action accordingly.

I would be content to be RIFd now, but guess I would be even happier if I new it might be later in December to get the 401k match.

After this next scheduled up coming September wave of RIF’s of white collar positions across all SBU’s will be followed by the next wave of RIF’s will be in November/ December across all functions and SBU employees, before the end of the year. Also in November will be when changes in Business, Team and Project Leadership (Directors, VP’s, General Mangers and other senior managers) will take place so they are in place before the beginning of the 20121 calendar year, so they have a full calendar year to produce the numbers and tasks they are given for 2021.

Forgot to mention, either June 15 or 16 was the deadline to self-nominate for VRIF.

Let's hope this wave is over and that another one will be a long time in coming. I'm sure it will vary among SBG's.

Here is a little tidbit that may mean nothing, but for those of us who were notified on June 30 that July 3 would be our last day, the RIF list that was provided, which lists job title, age, and location of those affected and unaffected by the RIF stated that ages given were as of the "selection date" of June 18.

Whether June 18 was the day they sent our names to Legal for review, or the date the approved list was finalized, I don't know, but it suggests that RIF decisions can be made in about 2 weeks.

Let's hope it's over. Not every RIFee is bitter or wishes ill on those remaining. This was the boot in the b-tt I needed to get out of that snake pit. I am starting my next chapter with a smile and a heart full of hope. Wishing the same for you, whether you stay or go.

@hve
Actually, this site has been dead on for layoff rumors for the last 2 years I've monitored it. Including 1 week notices before they hit.

Also, it appears that you are posting a simular message in every message thread. Even threads that are not speculative in nature. This comes across as something a paid bot would do. There are laidoff people here trying to get answers to the layoff process, and advice on next steps. They have every right to post questions here.

PMT (UOP) asked fpr VRIF and the deadline to submit was noon July 1st. It has been silent since then with several plants down and idle this week. How can you possibly say this is BS and its over? Its far from over.

Here is a post regarding Honeywell Layoffs from a few weeks. It’s a good list of indicators of more layoffs coming. If they plan up to 50% white collar employees over the next year these signs may help indicate the timing.

@dlh: The revenue, sales, margin & cash flow numbers forecasted at the beginning of this year for next several quarters are already blown. Everyone knows that. Honeywell will give forward guidance around the third week in July with the 2nd Qtr. earnings release that states whats going to happen in the future.

I certainly do not know. But I do know Honeywell

Keep your ears open. Is the business you are in exceeding goals for the year?

If not expect more. Shortfalls on revenue, sales, margin, cash flow?? If yes to any of those then RIFs. It’s Honeywell’s only solution
