This was planned for 18 months with a pi-s poor execution. Part of the goal was to cut down windshield times but now reps are driving two hours away just to get into their new territory. A lot of very knowledgeable associates let go while others with less are staying. Reps are now being thrown into both sides of the business (MSC & CCSG) with no knowledge of one side and expected to handle it. The reps let go were given a pi-s poor severance and told to get it, they have to stay on until Dec 12 and train their replacement. MSC doesn’t care about the relationships create among the reps and customers. They fully expect to lose business and have reps leave if they don’t like the new restructuring.

@sn As a customer, I will be leaving as well. My Sale Rep is the best I have ever had. I left fastenal when she was hired at MSC because of hwr knowledge and ability to get me what we need when we need it. She has yet to say anything about this and If it is true, I along with several others will be taking our buisness elsewhere

As a customer who spends over 500k yearly with MSC, If my sales representative is being changed, I will drop MSC and CCSG like a bad habit. I came to MSC from fastenal following my sales person because of her knowledge regarding fastners, hydraulics and her ability to find me what nobody else can. I see her every week, she is communicative and doesn't over stock my inventory. If she is no longer my parts girl, I will find another company to do buisness with. I have spoken with several others who also use MSC including Peterbilt, JK farms and and western waste. We will all be finding other vendors. Whoever thought this was a good idea should absolutely be fired.

@eq Yup, company is going downhill after CEO has stepped down. I have customers leaving MSC because how poorly this was executed.

Yes. 190 customer-facing associates are affected in this restructure. Another 80 back in August. Sales geographies and assignments being redrawn, new comp plans, etc. Major upheaval being implemented Dec 1. Field sales realignment expected to embark on warm handoffs in first 2 weeks of Dec before associates and customers take vacation for year end Holidays
