Hearing it's going to be big org changes. Also, all you publicly complaining about RTO and trying to protest coming into the office, you will get the response of finding out who is in charge.

@w6 this is pretty spot on. Everyone has a different view of what jobs/roles they feel are "essential". People take out all their frustration on folks on this site. Like, sorry you're miserable. Most of us are miserable, but at least we don't use it as an excuse to be a--holes to random strangers online.
@sw well I asked a simple question. When people throw around terms like non-essential, it helps if they know what the he-l it means. If they can actually back it up with actual true examples of programs or teams or job titles. Rather than just snarky comments. You're not contributing anything here.
If you’re asking yourself whether you are essential or non-essential, you probably already know the answer.
USB risk could run on a team of 10 at this point, and instead they employ 5000+
@n2 define non-essential areas? What risk management program (e.g., CRM, ORM, etc.) is non-essential?
The organization has seen an influx of legacy middle management talent and former strategy consultants whose backgrounds are primarily in general management rather than technical disciplines. In a technology-driven environment, this skills gap has led to a reliance on offshoring key engineering functions. These managers effectively position themselves as coordinators of offshore delivery rather than direct technical contributors.
However, this structure has created a structural disincentive to hire highly skilled domestic technical talent, as doing so would expose inefficiencies in the current management layer. The result is a dependency loop that prioritizes headcount optics and managerial control over genuine technical capability.
Laughable!!
@g8 They are looking to shuffle/retsurcture people around when they ask for talent cards. Maybe you’ll end up in a role that makes sense and is fulfilling, maybe not. Depends on if you are someone’s favorite or not. Nitwits are making decisions to save their own a$$es, so good luck.
@jp definitely missing RD but not JVG who was the equivalent of Biden. Say what you want about DV (ref to deleted post) but at least he's trying to get us up to date on tech. We would not have to play catch-up if it weren't for JVG who had mentally retired 5 years prior to his real retirement date.
I hope the young they bring in, in technology understand this is your yearly future working here. When a company is circling the drain, multiple layoffs per year are a fact of life. It's depressing and sometimes being safe from the RIF su-ks. You are expected to work harder, with longer hours and no raise or recognition. All technology is moving to India, including your job.
Confirming 10/14-10/17 for Risk Management and Compliance. 20-30% of staff in non-essential areas.
@k2 it was mid month was last month
This reads like a post written by Dwight Schrute. 🤣
Layoffs are always the last day of the pay period. Especially if you’re asked to remain for 2 more pay periods. Makes it easier on administrative side of things.
@OP Layoffs coming October 17th on WCIB. Operations
Missing Richard Davis! Laying off to make room for the India FTE locations. How do you motivate and keep lying to your employees in this kind of environment?
@g9 Product at MPS due to consolidation or abandonment of some software initiatives, have already gotten rid of scrum masters and product managers
@g9 heard field employees. Not sure the title. Client face to face roles.
Anyone heard about layoffs at Elavon/MPS?
@fj manager just asked for all of our talent cards on workday. Not sure what that means. Never been through a layoff. Not worried though. I'm ready to go.
Layoffs are always likely "next week" at US Bank.
ERM, Reg Services, ORM
@bx which group in Risk?
@OP Was informed last night that REMOTE workers Mortgage world are what is being targeted in the weeks to follow. A person that was laid off 2 weeks ago stays in contact with her former boss, that implied that all remote workers left will be eliminated!! So I guess I will be on the chopping block! Good luck everyone
@bf if you post about incoming layoffs every week it will eventually happen.
Risk folks will be let go
@bf what "massive" layoff? I've heard of a few scattered here and there but nothing that qualifies as "massive".
@bn if that was the case there would have to be a WARN issued.
@bn 10,000 layoffs in one month doesn't sound remotely true. 10,000 in a year is believable. We'll know next week.
I heard somewhere that 10,000 people will be laid off this month. But I don't know where I heard it or whether it's true or what part of the bank but just wanted to post it and share cuz I think I heard it somewhere.
Everytime someone mention incoming layoff, the same characters show up trying to get details and scowl and try to gaslight. This happened the last time, then a massive layoff occurred exactly as the posters predicted.
@ap OP does not have any news. He/she/it is just posting random BS with nothing to back it up. Typical trollery.
@b2 Yet bo-m, there it is.
@an "FAFO, Chuck."
Yeah ... that lost its oomph after Petey's disastrous cringy speech. It is a meme now.
Amazing post about NOTHING.
Hearing from where and what BL?
News on which orgs are impacted with the change?
@a2 "So who is in charge?"
FAFO, Chuck.
We are lucky to be alive for 80 years. The universe has been around for 15 billion years.
God or nature, whatever your beliefs is in charge.
What happens if you’re out of office and out of the country and you get laid off?
@OP Ultimately reality is in charge. And one size fits none rules fly in the face of reality.
