Thread regarding DXC Technology layoffs

What do you really expect?

This must be the worst IT supplier in the world. Not kidding.
I have never seen a company have so many bad reviews form employees past and present, and customers. They are literally the worst large IT supplier in the world. Who could possibly be worse?

It doesn’t take a genius to realise that this company will continually downsize, sell parts off which may be not profitable or problem areas. This will continue, along with head reductions until its a hundred smaller companies. It’s just what happens when these companies are on a downward spiral, its always been the same, always.

The CEO’s have targets set for shareholders to be happy. And its a million times harder and longer to turn a company around than to just sell off the bad performing parts.

A CEO will sell off part of the business to increase cash, decrease the heads and expenses and give the company a short term boost. And thus get a large bonus.

I don’t understand the people saying “cheer up its going to get better” lol. They either have shares invested or they are delusional.

The stock may rise, it will go up and down, but over 5 years?.... this company will be smaller and smaller, and that trend will continue.

Nothing wrong with the people there, they are all good guys (boots on the ground). But when the direction of the company is determined by how the CEO’s get the bonuses its obviously going to be steered to benefit them.

From someone who once worked here, here’s my advice:
Don’t even think about the bigger picture of the company, don’t get involved in the negativity. Just enjoy your days, do only what you can, and get out of there, you don’t want that negativity in your life every day. Try and make a plan to move onto something else.

If your stuck there for a while, then seriously, don’t let it all get to you, you can only do what you can do, all the insanely bad process and working environment is not your fault.

Good luck!

“Who cares if you use Your or You're ...”

Well a lot of people care. Especially those with an IQ north of 90. Companies that hire people with no higher education than the fourth grade are destined to share DXC’s “success”.

I’d rather hire and retain people who can at least pass an elementary school writing test. But I guess that is why I am successful and you... well, you are not.

Hey... somebody needs to occupy the very bottom of the pile. DXC fills this role quite effectively.

@2hka

No expansion. Just exchange of experienced staff with cheaper staff.

Looks like there is finally some expansion in the company, cuts everywhere except our new headquarters where they have recruited 5000.

I’m surprised how they are still limping along. It was bad when I was there, seems much much worse now. Best of luck to you all.

Who cares if you use Your or You're we all know what is meant. Get over yourself with the grammar and spelling mistakes. It might be done on a phone voice to text and Sri doesnt know which one to use.

I took a contract to hire with DXC. At the end 5 months later I decided I would rather be unemployed than convert to full time employee. This company is a hot mess.

Sadly, probably 90% don't know the difference between "your" and "you're". For those of you reading this, "you're" is the contracted form of "you are". "Your" is used to show possession, such as: your Dad, your Mom, your bunny rabbit, your employer, etc.

The write does not even know the difference between your and you're. Pathetic!

DXC - the worst experience I have ever had in over 40 years. Was given a retention bonus as key employee in Workplace & Mobility ready for the sell off. Didn't make any difference. Redundant in July, despite 100% client billable and funded to September and beyond. In my last year all the technical and security experts needed to help deliver workplace solutions for clients both in the USA and EMEA had gone, redundant or resigned. All now working for rivals like ATOS, Accenture, ComputaCentre, Avanade. Even the tech leads who designed the current workplace offerings had left and now working for HP Inc and Microsoft. Spent last year firefighting on multiple major accounts. Only expertise the company have left are people in India who can read MSDN and google but have no real implementation expertise. Glad to have left. Good luck everyone who are stiil there.

This article is so necessary. Management offered me a good salary to put together four techs (including myself) for MSFT Treasury Room. The Co referral bonus program will pay me $750 for each employee. I had two FTEs give me a good recommendation. Not only did they not hire me and my best referral because they decided to pay employees less salary, they never paid me the referral bonus for the two techs I referred. Everyone I know said there's something wrong with DXCs style of doing business. Surprised a class company uses DXC as a vendor at any level. DXC is classless.

I've worked for them for 19 years. But can take it no more. We were recently offered a volutary redundancy package, with what seems good terms. I signed it as soon as I got the details. So did my boss. At the local level its fine, but the leadership cares only for the shareholders. There is no team in DXC any more. No christmas parties or social events, no travel allowed etc etc. The new CEO has made 0 difference at my level. So I will be glad to see the back of this company.
The fact that they offered packages to everyone, even those critical to the account, that are earning them good income, just underlines how incompetant the whole bunch are. They will have no luck recruiting, everyone knows they are not good to employers.

I don't see a problem from our site.
People who weren't billable to client were reviewed and made redundant.

Many middle managers were cut.

Pay rises up to 5% for the majority of staff as CEO promised for August.

If you don't want to be here, get a new job.

They are the WORST company ever! I've reported them to the labor law and they favored me because DXC have not responded in a timely manner as if they care. My layoff date was June 5 due to covid and I have not received my severance at ALL. Myself and 5 other employees have got the run arounds. No one has accurate answers and their Hr is ridiculous. They gave us 3 different dates and here it is August 26! Anyone that have the audacity to leave a positive response for this company you are definitely Stupid Period! Worst Company I ever worked for

This company formed into Perspecta, but many techs started to drop like flies because management will not train you. Well, you may not even meet your “boss”, but they will pay you if you can deal with red tape and the unknown. But it won’t last long. These companies get away with pretending to be professional but they just go with the flow as well. It’s some corporate pyramid scheme. The benefits are good, but absolutely no job security. Just like anything in I T. Oh well, maybe the construction industry next?

I was let go due to “COVID-19” on July 31. I still have not got my severance check, after calling Over and over for the last month and only getting told the package was sent to payroll to be sent to me. As of today Aug 26 the HR lady told me it would take another payroll cycle her “guess” was it would not be sent until Sept 11 At best. So not only do they let longtime employees go that may be making a little more money just to hire contractors cheap...it appears they want to keep kicking you once your down. They send you to the unemployment line, then try and ruin your credit and make you homeless by holding your money. CSC went to c-ap right about the time Obama care started and has been on the down hill slide ever since.

Yep agree and any company they work with is the same shoddy business as well, like Symtech,Computacenter and Emerge. Trying to pay techs salaries you would get working at target, simply ridiculous they should all be asshamed of themselves!

"I’ve given more raises in the past 4 months than in the last several years"

What rise have you given 1%, 2%, 3% wow to people who haven't had a rise in 10 years, that's a big 0.2% a year if your lucky.

And what are you management getting, big bonuses, shares, and millions.

Wheres the justice in that?

I worked 12 years in HP/HPE, once CSC took off the services business, I was also responsible to merge IT systems...DXC never paid any attention to IT merger. DXC even lost its own business of IT services for HP/HPE. Executives don't pay attention to techies and don't pay attention for improvements. WFR and cost cutting to meet goals takes priority. I decided to resign as DXC work culture was far below standards.

Giving a single raise would be more than that given in ten years. More like a raise you were authorised to communicate by the grand poobahs.

I’ve given more raises in the past 4 months than in the last several years. So delusional? No. Apparently I’m in a division that rewards its employees and the business is growing. I’ve also laid off zero employees. So apparently not everyone is drinking the same kool aid. Have some had a bad experience ? Yes but it is not ALL of DXC. Also, our employee survey results came in. Top marks from the employees... so apparently there are varying experiences and realities under the same hood. This post isn’t meant to invalidate the experience of those who’ve been hit hard by the company. It’s awful and I would never take away from what people are having to go through. Just wanted to share a different perspective ... and no my division isn’t highly paid with big titles. FYI

You’re right. But one mistake. They will continue to sell PROFITABLE parts of the business. That’s how they raise cash to temporarily increase revenue to boost share value. Like HHS. Thank god im part of that sell off.

Not a hostile work environment, just a passive aggressive one, combining a deep misunderstanding of effective project management with an inability to make realistic promises to customers.

You are right its EXACTLY the same as before.

No amount of saying "its different" by Salvino is convincing anyone but the usual bunch of stupid b*tt lickers.

No pay raises for most, pathetic ones for some, more excessive WFR, everyone struggling with overwork, stuff not getting done, more offshoring, customers running away because their service is collapsing, revenues falling rapidly year on year, nobody in the real world wants to buy from DXC (not that DXC has anything of value to sell) because everyone knows how incapable we are at delivering and how likely we are to fail to find and/or remove key resource from their account.... and the top table filling up their saddlebags with loot because its "all brilliant".

Its all about the tone says Salvino.... what exactly is that tone? Is it a death rattle or just a bum note?

That's the strategy, incompetent cant sell anything so every quarter cut staff downsize the company, management pay yourself millions in dividends and pay, screw the staff on their salary, tell the board and shareholders you have a plan your executing, wing it for 5 years and you've made a few hundred million.

Mike Lawrie scam was everything is going cloud, he bragged that for a good few years, Mike S is saying he is turning things around and will get new business.

Only thing in common is cuts for staff and milking the company for the management, different mike same strategy.
