Thread regarding Wells Fargo & Co. layoffs

RTO is so painful.

Here’s what I realized. I’ve been so used to WFH, that I’m actually subjected to people in person, now. I actually find my teammates annoying. I got so used to correspondence over phone and email that when I’m around them, in person, I feel stressed out. Perhaps, not stressed out, but exhausted. That’s kind of affecting my productivity. Is this what WFH has done to me? I’m thinking this must be the side effect of some social isolation. Perhaps I can get some shrink to give my condition a technical name, and write me an excuse to continue WFH?
Does anyone else feel some sort of awkwardness by being back RTO?
I never used to be this way.

C hasn't done a thing to me, the gov and their cronies in various industries however...

Let's just say that the cure is far far worse than the disease in the vast majority of cases.

I wouldn't say I'm nervous around the 2 legged distractions in my building. I just don't have time to talk to them, they don't have a business need to know what I'm doing, and I'd rather not see/hear them because it's distracting. Other than that, the people at my assigned location are great.

No manager, peers, directs etc. at my assigned location and we can't be hubbed. So yeah, it's a complete waste of time. It's been obvious for a long time that the sole purpose of the exercise is to tank morale.

For some it is. For others it's magically not "better together". There's no business case for sorta-blanket RTO that would pass muster if it was proposed by employees to executives. It's only justifiable in a "I'm your employer so it doesn't need to make sense" kind of way. In any event, the execs need to learn that "not giving a damn" cuts both ways. If you want bare minimum performance, RTO is how you get it.

Perhaps I do need therapy. The pandemic really took a lot out of me. DE&I Indoctrination is not helping, either.

Downvote away! RTO is a condition of employment. Noone, especially leadership, cares about your feels.

I feel for you folks who have to RTO. Some of us are in jobs that we do not have to RTO at all. RTO isn't even something you hear in our company. WFH is the norm everywhere in Bio-Pharma. You all need to get out of finance.

Sounds like you need therapy so you can be reintroduced into society
