Thread regarding Sabre Holdings layoffs

Back to office rumours

I heard some rumours that we will be back for more days in the office since February even if you had some deal with manager about this. Do you have any more info?

@2qd there will continue to be a Sabre office in the US. There will be big changes in the US, but not as big as the changes in MVD.

Maybe they'll move to White Settlement or G-n Barrell City.

Sabre is hiring an employee dispute litigation attorney in Southlake. Something must be coming.

Will the PRISM team be expected to relocate to Southlake?

I feel sorry for the PRISM folks who have always been 100% remote.

Not only will lunch not count towards the working day but at lunch there will be no dessert until you have eaten all your vegetables. I know it's true because I negotiated this deal with the tooth fairy and santa. Indeed these are discussions at the highest levels.

What you're hearing is accurate, there are active plans in motion. I'm directly involved in those discussions.

I don't know about other countries, but Sabre salaried exempt employees in the US don't punch a time clock in or out so we get paid an annual salary divided into 26 equal paychecks no matter if we work 0 hours in a day or 24. No overtime pay for us. Texas is also a "right to work" state which means we can quit any time we like without providing any notice nor reason and, more importantly, we can also be fired any time Sabre likes without Sabre providing any notice nor reason. The fact that Sabre currently pays severance is merely a generous non-contractual benefit that Sabre can change any time Sabre likes. Yay non-existent US labor laws.

Is the lunch thing for real? Doesn't that violate labor laws?

This puts pressure on employees to resign voluntarily and move to companies that offer better hybrid or fully remote working conditions. This way, Sabre will not have to lay people off and will avoid a negative public image.

I've heard similar rumors. Its gonna be five days a week from the office starting 2/2. Also no lunch break included in working hours. If you take one, you need to stay longer at work. The comm is going to happen on very last days of Jan to take people by surprise and avoid negative comments
