Do we have trust issues? The assessment communications indicate they are for development only but there was some wording about "role selection". Maybe they'll be a consideration as we replace those that have been offered the Special Separation Plan. It's pretty clear that we value skills and assessments more than business results. We'll see where that gets us as a company. Probably continued P&C market share loss.

Never mind that we were told differently by the claims leaders that there are no layoffs in claims planned this year. Last year, we were told about the assessments a few weeks in advance. Why would Allstate spring assessments on people at the last minute? And what'd be the point, anyway, since they likely still have last year's results they can use without paying for a new round of testing.

I, too, am calling fake news.

Agreed! The people who keep saying fake news are delusional.

I find it interesting that there are several people on here that state fake news. I assure you it is not. It is real just as the voluntary termination offers that went out last week.

I really can’t imagine them laying off anyone in auto claims, they are in a panic trying to hire people. It’s laughable that they think more layoffs is the solution.

The assessments are simply "CYA" or "Cover Your A-s". They really aren't even used to determine who is laid off. It is just a legal prop to have on file to keep the discrimination and labor lawsuits at bay. The names are already on the list. This was made clear last year. This time around they are starting with the higher paid bonus level employees and depending on how much is cut there will determine how many are impacted in the lower levels and grunt roles.

Would someone please confirm that this new assessment impacts bonus level only?

It does not makes sense that a second assessment is being administered back-to-back so closely after one had already targeted that same segment (bonus level) of the workforce.

I just took my assessment today. 38 year ATSV employee, not claims. 8 week clock begins ticking for my team to find out how many will be laid off. No area is safe.

@rxd They also said no layoffs for us in claims in April 2020, when they were hiring, and when we were barely keeping our heads above water.

Fast forward to now. I do not think there are layoffs planned for claims below bonus level anytime soon but after last year I believe zero these compulsive liars tell me and they are so out of touch with reality above a certain level that nothing would surprise me.

I still think the mass move of claims to India is still happening but with COVID totally ravaging India right now I would think that got pushed back for a while, maybe until next year.

Will claims and it's employees at all levels be part of this?

We've already been told that there are no layoffs planned for 2021, and Allstate is hiring like crazy because there aren't enough adjusters currently to handle the workload

I'm also calling fake news.

I agree. We were offered voluntary separation plan options last week for bonus level, and now this. There will most definitely be layoffs regardless of how they try to downplay this.

Yep and you can bet after your “bonus level” boss is chosen for lay off, they will make it seem like it was totally out of the blue. It won’t be told outside of this forum that higher ups are going through assessments.
