Thread regarding U.S. Bank layoffs

Has anyone been affected by not complying to RTO?

Just wondering, if anyone has been affected by not complying to full RTO. Heard management has been more strict now, probably since we are heading towards year end. I know it will eventually result in termination. But do they give a warning and then PIP? or just lay you off randomly. I just think its ridiculous for this 3 day office requirement..

@3hj Thanks for sharing that earth-shattering opinion piece. Reading it truly changed the narrative and revealed information that has not already been discussed here and everywhere for years now.

Managers are aware, and there is reporting on it. Some may verbally warn you some may wait to see a pattern. Start complying if you want your bonus and job and stop whining about it because you’re going to sc--w it up for everybody else that hates going in but are compliant.

@18z I laughed hard at this than I probably should have.

However, outside of not getting a merit, if you're not complying to a reasonable degree you're probably gunna get fired. Some people are fine with that outcome.

@b9 "I have been coming in from 8 to 5 for 30 years, why didn’t anyone tell me working hours are 9 to 5??? No wonder I am always tired"

Karen Boomer extraordinaire, Slow Clap Did you also walk backwards in bare feet through broken glass to get to school every morning? Oh wait, if you had any smarts you wouldn't have been working at this bank for 30 years. Nevermind....

Non compliance means no merit.

@f4 verbal warnings are already being issued. I've also heard of some formal written warnings as well.

I mean we knew it was coming. We can all hate it, but acknowledge that they have nothing better to do with their time and resources than police RTO. Such effective leadership, I tell ya. Miserable people in offices LOVE to collaborate. It'll make them SO MUCH MONEY.

I wonder if anyone has been hit for obeying the 3 day rule but failing the 11 day report. It's quite easy to follow the rules but fail the report because of vacation, sick or holidays.

@az Remote work takes place during the same hours as in-office work, and workers have access to the same or better resources at home than they do in the decaying offices the company asks workers to work in. Being remote is all upside.

@az a lot of us had hybrid schedules pre-COVID that were more flexible than what is now. Stop acting like people who work from home don't work. If that was the case then ank would have ceased operating during covid. Ya stupid troll

@az - the 20th century is also over, time for not so new ways of working (given that remote work existed well before covid made it a requirement).

I think it is completely stupid, but here's reality: either show up or you are going to be fired for cause. The choice is yours.

Polite verbal reminder
Verbal warning
Written warning
PIP
Termination

Unless you say something stupid during a verbal, like “ I’m not coming back to RTO”
Then it will be a written or PIP depending on the days already missed.

Yes. We have known employees (great at their work) shown the door for not complying. Zero negotiation policy when it comes to RTO.
