Thread regarding Alteryx layoffs

Horrible place to be right now

Cutting 11% of the workforce. In the USA those effected have already been asked to leave. I know the in other parts of the world there is a consultation where my ex colleagues don't even know if they are staying or going. Everyone has lost faith in the leadership team.

Indeed, the current "Chief People Officer" of the company doesn't hold a fraction of a candle to the previous CPO, who was beloved and unfortunately left the company last year. It was a big loss to lose him.

The advice from another poster in this thread to start looking for other opportunities outside of the company is sage advice.

I've totally lost faith in the company, I've never come across such a rude, arrogant and abrupt HR manager. Does not understand what the employees are going through.

Yep, a lot of wrong decisions to let go of people who had worked hard to help the organization over the past 18 months.

This won’t be the last of the poor decisions. More to come later this year. If you are not yet looking outside for your next opportunity, you should be. Not a day to lose.

They’ve let go off good talent and kept those who know to play the game ! Sadly leadership doesn’t have its ears on the ground to know the realities of who is working and who is just talking !

I reckon that everyone still there should just go on a strike.

Basically the future for Alteryx is to be an acquisition target for another software company that wants to get into the analytics space.

The strategy from here is to pretty Alteryx up and prepare it (from a financial standpoint) to be as attractive as possible for acquisition. It’s pretty well now proven that Alteryx won’t be able to make it as a standalone company, so the only alternative is to gussy itself up to sell itself to another company.

We expect Alteryx will be acquired in the next 12-18 months. That’s when the real bloodbath of layoffs and brutality will begin.

If you are currently at Alteryx, you should target your exit for the next 6-9 months, macro economy willing. That means starting to look around and interview now. You don’t want to be there 12 months from now.

@rss+1mushQP2 Absolutely!!

The company was doing so well. Hired a ton of resources in the last 12 months to find and drive more opportunities. Such a poor and ruthless decision from the leadership team!!

I knew so many talented individuals who were told to leave just like that. Such a heartless act from the leaders.

What do you think the future is for Alteryx?

I expect a lot of people are going to be gone in the next 3-4 months. So many people lost trust and faith in the company and are already interviewing elsewhere.

Prepare for the next phase of Alteryx. It’s not going to be pretty a year from now.

Too bad, because the company was on the upswing for the past 18 months. Now all the progress has been decimated by an ill-conceived and poorly executed and completely unnecessary layoff. Management has proven to be heartless and ruthless, and all of the good talk and feel-good programs put into place are proven to be complete jokes.

It is unnerving to say the least. Every single colleague I talk to at the company is frantically applying elsewhere.
