Even if airlines are not I saw first hand evidence of Honeywell actively screening resumes based on protected class attributes back in 2021/2022. Explain the list of candidate resumes that was 20 deep before the first non diversity UR candidate in a field with ten percent dei graduation rates?
To be fair this practice seems to have abruptly stopped, shifting to “we will give lots of money if you just get any friend to apply”.
The job board today shows massive title inflation. I guess that is hiring managers trying unsuccessfully to compete on wage basis.
Today no experienced person wants to work at Honeywell. Wages, promotions, advancement, school assistance, for heaven sake health care, annd don’t talk about workplace cleanliness …all well below peers.

HR management positions get filled with people who are capable of being, and who will not hesitate to be, extremely disingenuous and deceptive.

On the one hand, naive workers think they are like a friend to whom you can turn when you have got problems, and on the other, they have a responsibility to the corporation to make sure that troublesome workers aren't a problem. In other words, when you confide your secrets to your HR Manager, you're telling the last person on earth you should tell.

Characters who have to keep up these two faces tend to be destructive rather than creative, dishonest rather than honest and will strictly follow policies and procedures to the letter when it suits them, or to the spirit of the procedure if it is not worded to suit their aims.

HR managers have to help to engineer the dismissal of a whistleblowers or pregnant women, because they have to make it look like the company has acted within the law, even when they know it hasn't. The same character will be at the interviews for replacements and be telling candidates about what a wonderful firm this is, and how ethical it is etc.

  1. Only one week of severance per full year of employment!
  2. No 401k vest till you reach the 3-year mark!

I strongly advise against pursuing employment at Honeywell unless it’s your last resort. Here’s why:

  1. The work environment significantly impacts mental well-being. You might see noticeable mental health issues after the first 6 months of employment.
  2. The value of having Honeywell on your resume has diminished. It’s no longer regarded as the positive career attribute it once was.
  3. The existing workforce lacks motivation, which can be incredibly draining. This not only affects your current performance but also your future competitiveness and adaptability in subsequent roles.
  4. There’s a disconnect between what is communicated in company meetings and the actions taken. For instance, diversity initiatives in the U.S. have been disappointingly limited in scope, often focusing on just a couple of nationalities.
  5. I’ve witnessed systemic discrimination within the company, targeting employees based on their race, nationality, ethnicity, and even religion.

These issues are just the tip of the iceberg in what makes Honeywell one of the worst workplaces to work for in the US.

Yes, sir, I did know that Allied bought Honeywell in the attempt to right their own tarnished name circa 1999. That's why I mentioned it in my post. History seems to be repeating itself... and Mark Twain claimed that history only rhymes! :)

You do realize Honeywell is in fact Allied signal. They changed their name to Honeywell after the buyout due to a low and unfavorable name that Allied had. Same parasite different host . I mean name.

I just had three different and independent recruiters send me the same list of systems engineering jobs at Honeywell on the same day. I'm up to 71 recruiters, both internal and external, that have contacted me about returning to Honeywell since I left in mid-2022. The kicker is that one recruiter told me that the pay has nearly hit the acceptable level. The only problem is that Honeywell is unacceptable. They are only interested in DIE (yes, I call it that because that's what happens to companies that do it) candidates who fill in check boxes rather than know what they're doing. The slow-motion and painful circling of the bowl has been in effect for some time. It's only a matter of time before Honeywell joins Allied Signal in the dustbin of history.

Yep but HON still has ZERO interest in retaining employees. The smart workers have figured out that the only thing HON cares about is DEI scores and overworking any employees that remain.
