I know people keep mentioning so called "surgical" layoffs that are constantly happening, but this seems larger than that. Am I wrong?

also wondering how big was every round this year? just trying to gauge how much of a reprieve we might have. our group lost 2 out of 13 employees (that including our 2 managers: D and MD) in January. looks like 3 heads hired in India over the last 6-9 months were intended to replace NY and FL employees.
most of the groups around me (we are in finance) are now 40-80% in India. since a new waive of outsourcing our group morale turned south: information retention is a major theme now
