Levels under leadership don’t qualify for the Severance

FYI— it was confirmed by my leadership that the volunteer exit plans and the severance are only applicable to people at her level or higher. I’m a USA which means I don’t qualify. No USA’s will qualify for it. Just proves upper leadership could not give a f-ck less about people at my level.

Think of yourself and families before this company.

The content of these comments show why many of you should be released. You simply dont comprehend a message nor understand business or how good you have it. I've worked in many industries and rarely do you get a package let alone severance. OP mentioned only management gets severance, untrue. Maybe your area is only impacting management, they are overstaffed. That said other areas submit their reduction plans and analysts do qualify. If you get a severance and were looking to retire or leave, good for you. If you don't... well thats life, reinvent yourself like the rest of the world does when there is a downturn or streamlining of business. Ya'll talking about pension, it already went away for people starting after Jan 1 2021. As far as freezing it, we'll I guess anything could happen but if they freeze it they'd have to roll you into the enhanced 401k for future contributions and you won't lose you're current pension. Geesh

@bg I hoped for an AS97 buyout for years. But I was ready to retire before there was any hint of one coming.

@c7 It actually makes far more business sense to buy out a contract than to buyout a salary that can be ended at any time.

Levels under leadership shouldn’t qualify for the pension either. There should be some perks for managing these crybabies

@a9 the statement was the “first time” they use it it will be 4%, and that departments had already submitted their plans. Not sure where the leadership was the only applicable folks. That was not stated.

They sure as heck don't care about you or your family. They only share their values among their own.

@bg why would there be a buyout for the agents? The are independent contractors. They don’t work for corporate.

I agree they need to freeze the pension for anyone not in a leadership role. The pension should be an incentive and thank you to the hard working leaders. Non leaders can be replaced by monkeys

Meanwhile over 55 ET employees are literally jumping up and down with their hands raised hoping to get VEP/EVEP offers that will never come

Sorry underwriting if you want a job it will be in claims and welcome to the jungle! Claims is a living nightmare and total bad dream you can never wake up from. It will be interesting to see how it goes. The underwriting people will hopefully expose claims and claims upper leadership. U/W people will run to HR when they get too experience this sh-t hole. The new Severance packages are just a typical propaganda scam like everything else State Farm does. All leadership had our quarterly Executive briefing this week and JF told everyone that only 4% of employees would be eligible for it with only 1% receiving it. (hence the applications) Basic math....around 600 people of the 60,0000 employees. The vast majority of that will be in ET/IT. It is what everyone expected, you will continue to be reassigned, tortured, harassed and abused to force you out. They do not want to pay severance and want to make you quit. These people have not changed and are still the same useless sh-t bags as ever. Just a ploy to try to keep people from leaving and buys them time for you to train your replacement. Don't think for one second they found religion. Again just another SF scam to not pay what we owe!

Of course. They look after their own. Just like that cocky mf bragging about his pension and how he doesn’t care if auto rates keep increasing. He got his and said they better not freeze them pension or he’ll sue. Exec is afraid of him so no changes to the pension for now.
