@1j0 Respectfully, I don’t think Optum or Allina fully understands how stupid it would be to lay off Allina’s current support before the Sutter transition. Which is why I could actually see Optum doing this.

@1gw This is just my opinion, but I think it’ll be a little while before we get the boot. With this final expansion coming up they need us.

But I don’t doubt for one second that they are going to be recruiting and training our offshore replacements in the meantime, if they haven’t started to already.

I know this post is getting older, but has anyone received any more info? Work in Rev Cycle, I'm assuming we're toast, but haven't heard or seen anything yet.

Redeployment is the current buzzword. Allina leadership keeps spinning it as a wonderful positive thing for employees.

Don’t be fooled - redeployment means you’re getting laid off.

@18j I guess we're all just SoL then. Allinas worst, greediest decision ever to basically sell people. That's basically indentured servitude/slavery. We all know optum is no better and intact worse. Thank you for sharing this.

With all this said, does anyone have any more solid details on this?

@18j There are already Optum Allina employees in India that are working in Epic right now. Maybe not as analysts, but definitely other roles.

@15p I don’t know who told you offshore couldn’t do analyst work, but they’re wrong. Offshore employees in India cannot access Epic. That’s an Epic restriction. Offshore Optum employees in Ireland CAN. They’ve been phased in to support Alina’s Epic through the last year. They aren’t very competent, and know nothing about the US healthcare system, but Optum is fine with this.

So much for us being told offshore can't do analyst work. Doesn't matter I guess, from what I've been told about Sutter, sounds like Allinas Epic will be replaced with Sutter anyways.

@140 Yes. They have been testing what functionalities within Epic offshore employees have access to and are now working to find solutions to the areas that failed the testing stage.

Anyone know if this affects the Epic staff?

@zv Sadly I think all Optum Allina employees will already be dealt with before the merger even happens.

@zt so sorry to hear! Definitely worried about the Sutter announcement and how that will pertain to Optum Allina staff

I was part of the help desk staff that was let go a little while back. Was with Allina 12 plus years. Im still on unemployment and it's very devastating to lose your job when it's outsourced. If all this is true, I'd try to get out now. Especially after hearing about the Sutter merger/accusation. That's just going make it worse I imagine.

@r8 Not a rumor… Leadership has been pretty vocal about the fact that they are actively and quickly trying to figure out which roles can be sent offshore.
OGA (Optum Global Advantage) = offshore employees
Redeployment = you’re getting laid off

Everything is moving to India by EOY except a couple of executive positions, per internal memo sent executives and VPs

Leadership created a goal to shift 25% of tasks to offshore staff each quarter, to complete by end of year.

I’d guess this means layoffs by or around EOY. Within the next few months would blow up some areas, but then again, neither Allina nor Optum leadership actually care whether things work.
