5% of 2000 employees is 100 people chump. I’d say that’s significant, particularly to those 100. But hey, math isn’t for everyone.

Sounds like a bunch of anal retentive geos/engineer types worrying about numbers that doesn't amount to a piss in the ocean at the end of the day. You really think someone in the unemployment line gives a c-ap about 20%, 25%, or 30% reduction rate. Get a grip nimrods.
Anyone have any idea what head count currently is? My understanding was the furlough/reorg cuts were significant. I mean just walking around the office now, my guessestimate would be 30-40% gone.
I also heard from my supervisor today that cuts are going to be closer to the 20% than the 25%. Small wins I guess.

Nothing stating what the actual number of employees are now, or any other attrition as posted by others. And it states that Houston WILL LOSE their jobs. So if it has already happened, then the article is poorly written. So in defense of @zco+17Dr23ne, the poor snowflake reporting and math is getting all of your panties in a bunch.

700 is the Chevron employee layoffs in Houston that were part of Round 3 in their transformation. R4 layoffs are happening this week, but you won’t see numbers in the press until later next month.
And they are laying off more then just Noble employees.
And @ @zco+17Dr23ne can’t read. The article says they had ROUGHLY 2,300 at the END OF LAST year. We’ve gone through layoffs, firing and people leaving at their own will since then.
The article's numbers dont add up.. If Noble has 2300 employees as the article states, then only 575 people should be let go. But then they say that Chevon filed to let go of 700. Which is well over 25%...
Guess its that snowflake math they have been teaching.
Glad a journalist can do basic addition. If 25% are let go, 75% are not let go. I think the 75% is implied by anyone using half a brain..
I wonder what the true number of people employed by Noble on March 1, 2020 vs. those that will still be employed by Chevron after this layoff. I bet it will be close to 50% less people with a job. At least the former execs got paid.
