Thread regarding USAA layoffs

Layoff CONUS Remote Workers

The only remote exception should be for military spouses. Otherwise all CONIUS remote workers need to be laid off that were not remote prior to the pandemic. If my remote exception has been denied, why does someone else get a pass because things lined up for them to move during the pandemic. If I have to go into the office, so does everyone who isn't a military spouse.

My team would lose some of the most hardworking people if we did that. The ones in office are always going to Starbucks and happy hours

I’m fine with being laid off, I’ll take my $90k salary severance and go be a manager at Panda Express for $75k for a year or so, then go reapply with USAA for a higher salary.

Wait, why are military spouses the only group that need to be remote under this plan?

Go ahead and lay me off. I'm 100% T&P from the VA. Better than bowing down to RTO like a gimp.

I was definitely hiring from any state that had a person who knew how to do those BCC unpleasantries. I never expected them to come in, in fact I was happy to give them all the focus time needed.

Crybaby. You must be a young buck still living in your parents basement.

Some of our most talented people are out of state nowhere near an office. What gets me is people who exaggerated their commute and now got remote approved. What would happen if we all start using an address 100 miles away? If you can’t beat ‘‘em join ‘em

Have fun in office! I’ll look for you in the audience during a townhall or employee meeting. Make sure to get there early for the good parking. All of us remote employees will be thinking of you specifically as we roll out of bed and login.

Yup a girl in my dept moved to Conroe and was granted WFH, but those of us who followed the rules have to RTO. Maybe if we don’t follow the rules we will get what we want too.

If you are local to San Antonio, Plano, Charlotte, Tampa, or Colorado Springs then yes need to RTO. Otherwise you are undermining the "improvements" to corporate culture that are apparently required. Don't blame me...blame the guy at the top who lobbied a paradise for himself after losing over $1B in profits. Suck it up buttercup.

That is the biggest load of bullsh-t I’ve ever seen. I have been working from home for 10+ years and you think that I don’t deserve to be working from home because you’re a crybaby self is saying that I have to go in now everybody else does? Quit being a little bi--h about it and move onto the next abomination.

Ummm not everyone moved during pandemic. Loads were hired out of state/out of range from the jump. USAA knew full well where people were at time of hiring. Don’t be butthurt just because they want you BACK in the office. Some of us never started in the office so why should we move now? Not our fault you’re local.

I don't believe in work privileges based on who you're @#%-ing and that includes military spouses.
