Thread regarding ExxonMobil Corp. layoffs

So how's the whole India thing going?

I quit a while back, but it seemed like BTC was gearing up to be a sh-tshow. Just curious how that was going now.

@bn - unfortunately no one pays attention to actual xom results - our stock performance which has been dismal to say the least.

Don't sweat the incompetance at the BTC. AI will replace most IT jobs from India very soon. I worked with the Tech Mahindra crew for 2 years....no offense, but they are a joke. Prime target for AI.

There are still enough experienced employees around to keep things from imploding but that won’t be the case for much longer

Not sure about India but KL is a joke. Trying to build high level of competency in a workforce that jump ship to another company every 18 months. It's simply a broken model. Manufacturing sites paying the price with seriously depleted competency and a continuous cycle of onboarding new KL engineers. NOTE - this is not racism.

The stuff moved to HCL is even worse. They aren't even doing the basics. So many EM employees stuck trying to clean up shoddy work from incompetent HCL.

@bn You know that these people own/trade equity in several companies and often sit on the boards of different companies, right?

Exxon is now learning the nuances and challenges of actually working in/with India 🇮🇳.

The regulatory framework and taxation is significantly more challenging then the consulting companies stated in the pre-honeymoon phase…now the bride is eating more and maintaining less, hygienics also lacking…and attitude has worsened…

So expect a separation in less than 4 years…
