@q3 in some countries, in order to let people go by end of september, negotiations with the work council should start right now, and have both human resources people, lawyers and work council negotiate during summer...I find that difficult to believe...

It's officialy been presented to the Oracle EU labor unions a 20% workforce reduction uniformly across all teams, countries not a factor... plus some teams get cancelled altogether, decision made on strategic level.
When and how it was/will be carried out varies by country depending on its union if any.
This overall 20% reduction will be carried out by the end of September across all LOBs, cancelled teams are mostly already known.
If there was no RIF in your country yet, it will come in September at latest
From Reddit: Oracle is planning to layoff 30,000 workers by June 15.
At the same time it's also filed thousands of foreign-worker requests.
@ar you can't spell embarrassed even when it comes up underlined in red in the text box. I can't imagine how you must feel...
@ac I have noticed some of my former colleagues in EMEA (e.g., Netherlands, France, Germany - Presales, TAM, resourcing) have been impacted since 3-4 weeks ago up until this week.
However, the pattern seems to be random - unlike UK that the whole bunch was let go on the same date.
If you frequent this forum and you still don't know how the WARN act works you should be embaressed.
@OP I agree with the other posts - this is just the last day for people from WARN states to be on the Oracle payroll. Like me, we have been on "garden leave" but still on the Oracle payroll until that date. So you will see a sudden increase of total headcount, but it was always planned since 3/31.
What is with this EMEA delay? Don’t think it will be just UK, Ireland and Czechoslovakia, but no idea when it will continue in other countries.
Nope, that’s the cutoff day for the folks already let go.
