This company bullies people to try to get them to quit so that they done have to pay severance or pay unemployment. They also hire relatives and put them in positions with 0 qualification to do their job. But they get away with it because Pennsylvania is an at will work state. Cooperate America at its finest. Then they take advantage of of people in other countries and pay them a fraction of what they pay Americans to do the same job. Jobs that pay 55k-100k they are only paying India 7k-10k a year to do the same job. An American based company sending medical claims information, Member IDs, DOB information and SSN information to India but Tic Tock is an national security issue haven't you heard. Shouldn't this be a national security issue?

Karma will find it's way to you and others like you. It always does. With the lay-offs headed your way, maybe Karma will teach you what it is to be "contractor by choice. Choosing to accept low a$$ wages". Maybe when your turn for lay off comes, it'll be those "contractors by choice" who's lives and finances and careers YOU made a living he-l, who'll you'll have to now face as your hiring manager. We know what you did to us.

@422 Potential contractors. take note/heed. This attitude is the tip of the iceburg in hatred of Highmark employees toward contractors, and just about everyone else (including members). Everyone is their enemy, with potential to take away the money and perks they feel that they are entitled to. Including members. Contractors are just close at hand for taking all the bullying and blame.

I was a contractor here for more than a year. I don't feel the least bit of sympathy for Highmark employees. So much ugliness out of Highmark regular staff toward contractors who also need the paycheck and are supporting families too. I don't remember ever seeing so much ugliness in the work place as what I saw out of Highmark staff. Entitled prima donnas who've been farming out the actual work to contractors for a decade and don't know how to do anything themselves. Now they play victim when facing layoffs. Could you have even once bothered to learn ANYTHING about how to actually do the job? This is an adult day care for Highmark regular staff. You get the nice salaries and excellent benefits and farm out the actual work and real skills to people who don't get 1/2 of what you get, all the while you treat those people with contempt and undermining. Not going to be much sympathy for you out there when you lose your jobs and get that UC and severance.

@jh funny you say that they just gave something of mine to a east employee as it was more “ cost efficient “ for the East to bill time against it.. they aren’t very hard to read!
Start keeping everything and taking notes. If you get enough before they lay you off you can submit an EEOC complaint, and they will have to jump through a bunch of legal hoops. They did this to me for a year an a half before they laid me off. Took my work gave it to India or someone new. I would ask my manager for more work and he would give me old tickets you couldn't do anything with or BS work. They would go into my computer when I was presenting and try to mess me up you could feel the mouse pushing against you. Or into my computer to check if I was there and at my desk and doing my hours.
@OP that’s what they are doing to me right now! I pray every day to be laid off.. I’ve only got a few months before I can technically retire but can’t afford to quit. They are making my like a living he!!
