Its interesting that no one seem to be complaining about the 5 day RTO at Q. I dont know if its because Q has got everyone by their b*lls or people genuinely want to come back for 5 days a week.

It was a big misunderstanding. When management said "5 days back" then half the engineers thought that meant "5 days ago".
@pr no just guy who actually does real work not sitting on teams meetings reviewing power points , and not a code monkey that could be replace by a well trained CLINE , you know there are people who do actual engineering work that can’t be done with your ba--s hanging out.

CA has been censoring any questions in all hands meetings related to RTO. No, employees are not happy, but we have no choice and no voice. As others have said, it's comply, maliciously comply, or 'Bye Bye'.

You've seen the latest job/unemployment reports, right? If you don't want go to work, there are millions out there looking for work, they will ki-l for your position!

Listen, I get it you liked to sit at home play with your cat, and your ba--s all day. But unless your running your own business or work solely on tickets with no other people , you should be face to face and in the lab getting stuff done..
The people who wanted to leave have already left.
Now we are stuck with the desperate visa folks, people who agree to do 5 days a week AND sign on for late night meetings with the other geos.
I agree 5 days a week is insane. Might as well do meta and get 2x the comp then. Why wait around for these bootlickers to grind you away?
@a3 A lot of people who disagreed with the RTO policy have already left.
We need better work life balance. That's attained with a 4 days on and 3 days off schedule. This should be nation wide, not just Q. Better focus for 4 days than 1/2 the effort on Monday and Friday.
The job market in general has people by the ba--s. Folks have to pay their bills.

@a3, the complaint should be why 5 days. Other companies are doing 3 day. which is manageable.
5 day in this day and age feels like exploitation.
Mostly people on this forum are disappointed there are no engineering layoffs. So, 5 day rto is a sideshow
I've resigned myself to it and will be proportionally dropping my productivity. That's fine.
@OP what’s there to complain about? We’ve known for months we were going back to 5 days a week. Complaining about it won’t change anything, so at this point if people don’t like it, then they should find another job. I’m sure there are a bunch of unemployed people who would gladly be happy to have a job, working 5 days a week.
