Thread regarding Pearson PLC layoffs

Pearson = Career Su----e

Pearson continues to decline year after year, I’m shocked they are still hiring people. Every 8-12 months it’s time to layoff a group of people and start over again next year. I spent 7 years watching this disaster before finally leaving. The lack of leadership and pi-s poor planning in this company is ridiculous!

Thing is, they lay off all your closest colleagues (various departments) until they ki-l off the business, leaving the few remaining staff overworked, disengaged and depressed. Then they say we can only recruit more people when we grow the business. And so the downward spiral continues (a bit like the share price).

Just look at trust pilot site customer reviews - pretty shocking.

I worked in the ASU customer service centre for a while, lovely people. Seems a large portion of the recent/current layoffs relate to finance and have been caused by soposed AI advances. I doubt this, and beleive the company has 2 options (Increase revenue - they can't or reduce costs). Unfortunetly for staff they can only reduce costs. Get out as soon as you can!

This company usually attracts your attention at first ad it seems positive thing to work on education, but just from the first day in, you realize how wrong that assumption was.. the company is so far away to helping people get to a better place, they just charge huge amounts for trash products, they kick their employees day after day to maintain this culture of "selling expensive trash is not stealing if it is for a good cause"

I remember working for Pearson and enrolling for ASU, that group of re--rds leading the way over there was a joke. Valenzuela and OJeda could barely press the buttons in the elevator
