So those in the know, what does this week hold? Layoffs or reorganization? Or are they still preparing?

Restructuring…. In KY
Started yesterday. More today. Usually done today but there are always stragglers.
Another round in 3 months.
Any see any evidence of the bloodbath?
Current team recently re structured. Does that mean we are safe from a 2025 lay-off .
@211 Been laid off before on a Tuesday but it was another huge company. Thursday would put us in fourth quarter while this coming Tuesday is the last day of the month and last day of third quarter. Hmm..may be an eventful week.
@1z4 Historically, it happens on a Thursday.
Government Shutdown also looming this week as of 10/1. Interesting. These usually end up not happening but times are a changing. This quote is all over the national news today: "Federal employees from agencies across the US government say they’re “terrified,” “disoriented” and filled with anxiety as they brace for a possible shutdown that the White House has threatened will pave the way for new rounds of fast-tracked mass layoffs." It's just in the air and kind of hard not to draw conclusions. There is also a connection across some lines of business.
Is everyone expecting this to happen soon??? Will Monday prove to be a “surprise “ half of your team is gone?
I know its coming but I guess it depends on what part of the company. I am predicting this week or literally next Tuesday which is the last day of the month. The signs are all there and now time for another "this is a creation of my imagination" response comment. LOL.
@tp seriously , sign me up between the computer system not working, the training being terrible. I don’t need the headaches. This company is so mismanaged it’s ridiculous..
@ta “performance” ha!
I don’t know about this week, but my leader confirmed there will be more layoffs and restructuring this year. Layoffs will be based on performance.
Not sure who you mean but the new guy has zero rizz.
Reorgs and RIFs in MA... how long will this continue.. first get rid of the incompetent leader of Medicare. Changes need to start at the top.
RIFs often happen on Thursday/Friday. I wish they’d do Mondays. Doing it on a Friday makes you dwell on it all weekend.
I know there are psychological and safety reasons for Friday but come on…most are remote anyway.
RIFs usually happen on Fridays right?
@pp so big cuts in product?
@pf: Ahh right. There were two that occurred close together. I’ve heard only what they want you to hear. One was just mean - not overly great to work for/with. The other was fine but had been focusing on the wrong things for too long.
@pe what was the deal with that sudden abrupt departure? Was also wondering if it was another MC that resigned shortly before.
Only leader I know that that had a big department and lost their role in late spring was Medicare product.
I guess they could get cuts, but given how much the larger company is relying on Medicare success that might be a self inflicted wound.
@p7 which area specifically? Wondering if it’s the same leader I am thinking it was.
Yes they are doing a big cut to selective departments in MA….the massive and useless department that lost its leader in late spring will be hit hard.
Layoffs are across the company. Medicare is reorganizing, again, which will also result in additional “efficiencies” beyond selective RIFs.
@m8 bingo. Will it be layoffs or just a reorganization
Reorg is coming to Medicare LOB in the next few weeks for sure although they are always later than they planned.
@ej false. This is a product of your own mind and nothing more.
We are still hiring for a lot of positions....
@d8 exactly what happened to me. I RIF'd my team and they told me: "great job - we know that was really hard on you." then.......RIF'd me! no words!
Huh?????
@OP The first round is set -am sure. This week or next would be my guess for massive round 1. Remote workers may look a bit different but same ending. WARN may not come into play as in Cali there is usually a work around at least. Do they usually do them mid week?
@d8 Are People Leaders creating the list?
@d8 same
How exactly do you want someone to prove it on an anonymous forum like this?
If you’re a “seeing is believing type”, you’re looking for proof in the wrong place. In that case the day you’ll believe is is the day HR terms you.
Is there anything to substantiate any of this? Not asking for details that would expose anyone here but this all seems very vague. Are we supposed to think something is up on "vibes" alone?
HR is preparing. Names are locked in. My leader has been very unavailable lately - the pivoting started gradually…about a month or two ago.
I’m a leader myself, and wonder if they’ll have me RIF my own people first and then RIF me. Cowards.
I want to know what everyone else is seeing / feeling and what area you are in …. Just seems off.
@an it’s Monday. Relax.
@a8 No proof but it has been very quiet. Lack of meetings and emails. Very little to no communication from top down. Maybe they are quiet quitting themselves or are locked in the golden bunkers making lists and plans. Either way something is off.
@OP don’t be that guy
Do you have any evidence pointing you towards something or is this just blanket speculation?
