Wondering if anyone who submitted their name for VRIF has heard back from anyone yet. I’m also curious the % of people who submitted their name. I feel more than we think.

@r2 exactly. Call it what you want but EU countries treat employees much better than in the US. Can only be a good thing. Maybe the Americans will all start to realise at last that America (to use that scene from that Jeff Daniel’s film) is “not the greatest country on earth”

It’s why the company has always been top heavy disproportionately EU accents in sr positions. Severance/health mandates at country based regs everywhere except usa

@pa- That was what I was told by HR through the Q and A link and that was their response. I should have responded that this was in the US.
Years of service - anything over 11 is the same as 25 or 30 years. I apologize for not being more specific. Best of luck.

@pa that is just not the case in some countries. You are very uninformed, aren’t you ? in the uk it’s capped at 39 years service, in the NL you get two years severance (includes other benefits). Lots of examples where the company does the right thing. Not everything is like the USA (thankfully)

Would any of the EC committee or leaders accept a package without knowing the specifics? I think not.
The biggest crock in regards to severance is the fact that the most tenure you can have is 11+ years. If you have been here for 11 years or 30 years, it is all the same.
That is coming from HR, I asked.

@p5 while there isn't a one size fits all, there should be a very clear communication to each eligible employee.

They should have sent an individualized vrif offer to each eligible employee with details for their specific situation. That shouldn't take any effort, all offers should be sorry generated.

Who wants to volunteer themselves without getting the full information? Even asking for information could harm what future you have left if you chose not to take a package.

Years before I retired I got an individualized package (I wasn't ready yet), so they know how to do this. Or used to know before other reductions.

I’m not defending management or the generic FAQ, but with so many countries, roles, and variations in union and government rules, it’s not realistic to include specific severance or financial details in a one-size-fits-all document.

Those who chose to self volunteer for VRIF should have only done so in an informed way in regards to severance. There is a corporate policy and they should have looked it up. Those posting misleading messages on this feed in regards to this topic are either uniformed AI, competitors or lazy employees not interested in looking at the corporate policy.

The only thing the FAQ said was “ standard severance” and nothing about health care.
This is not the way “real” corporations handle vrif.
They are serving the dinner, serve it on a plate.

@dy don’t be so childish. There was an email link in the FAQ if you had further questions. All you had to do was ask what the severance was and they would have told you and then you have something in writing (and yes, I and 2 other people I know did this and they got the answer). Sometimes you have to be a bit more grown up about these things and not expect everything on a plate 😡

@aa Of course if that's the actual number, it's a path right back to that person and potentially you. Depending on when they applied, that seems like a much smaller number than they're likely hoping for.

The FAQ said last day for applications was today. That you can withdraw until May 7 and then would be informed by May 14. So assume you would be informed May 7-14 - why inform you earlier only to have you withdraw?

The FAQ says people will hear back on May 14th I thought. I know of someone who said their confirmation number was 795 so does that mean 795 applied before her?
