Not aware of any RN's in the 11/02 layoff but many RN's, LPN's, and SW's were let go with the 09/20 group.
I know onshore writers who were let go in the September RIF. So, you aren’t safe if you’re a writer.
Was CSBD Compliance hit hard? I got laid off in the first round on 9/21.
Another associate from ECP was let go today. Others were transferred to different leadership. I have never felt so insecure and scared. All I know is that I have given my very best so if it happens to me, I obviously didn’t belong there in the first place. Sending everyone positive vibes and praying we get through this.
AI will replace IT workers (analysts, developers, testers, architects, etc.) It's a job ki-ler that's embraced by the corporations.
Ai can replace writers and designers. I would worry if I was a writer.
Does anyone know if CSBD and creative departments like marketing are being laid off. We have a lot of writers and designers on various teams - haven't heard anything but wondering if that will be affected or if it's just IT etc? Anyone know?
I was told the vast majority of folks impacted were let go. There were some teams with cuts in multiple cycles, which I believe was to get around the “mass layoff” red tape.
As a people leader myself, I was personally told we need to cut 10% across the board, which included open positions. Some teams were impacted more than others here. Keep in mind this is directly tied to the impact of Medicare Stars (~$500M loss in CY 24) and Medicaid redeterminations (~125k members).
We’ve paid out $700M in severance in Q3, so I think the feedback I’ve received that the worst is over holds true. One could probably annualize this, compare to total wages from SG&A and see how close it is to 10% for a more precise estimate.
While there may be truth in the rumor mill, I think those of us fortunate (or unfortunate, depending on how you look at it) enough to have a job will be here for the foreseeable future.
@ozy+1po0mjHh - somewhere in the past posts in late August or September they stated that there would be layoffs 9/21, 11/2 and then in late January/early February '24. I think others confirmed this as well....you'd have to search way back for them. But if they got these 2 layoffs right, I would imagine that they are right about the 3rd one. I am sure someone may have more/exact information as that time gets a bit closer. This group has been great w/ making sure everyone is prepared and aware. My fear would be the ones after the holidays might hit Medicare Sales because they are in the midst of open enrollment now and it would be typical "workforce optimization" style to juice them now and lay them off after they have scored sales for the company. That is speculation though based on how this company uses and then tosses people aside.
Is today the last round we know of for a while? It goes without saying that it’s very stressful to worry day in and day out if I’m going to get the “meeting invite”.
Are any RN’s laid off?
Are they moving jobs offshore?
Is this GBD Execution, former IMO? I heard they may be impacted.
CSBD and GBD compliance team real heavy.
80 from one of the GBD IT Depts
7 from my team, also in GBD IT, meetings seem to be over now (I hope)
GBD IT. I know of 4 in my department (myself included). "Touch Base" meetings start at 11am and are 15 min each. So it has started. This company is going down and I have no sorrow about that!
