The job market is not good and my specialization/skillset has narrowed down further working here. Even if I had a super-demanding CV hypothetically, it feels selfish to say quit and put additional divided burden on my coworkers at this time of reduced work force. I work with some of the best supportive coworkers. The company/management does not deserve all the bright-minded good people working here. Management's series of mistakes (illegal sale, fruitless Lyve) are destroying the lives of 'live by paycheck' workers.

Always be applying.
Start applying now unless you are potentially receiving a hefty package. What have you got to lose?
@gnc+1miVCvI6 giv’in our HR too much credit for a thoughtful reply :-)
@otg+1miVCvI6...That reads like something a member of Seagate HR team would write.
@OP+1miVCvI6 It's clear that your current job is no longer serving your professional growth and it's probably time for you to move on. Your reluctance to quit during these challenging times is understandable, but it's important to prioritize your own career goals and well-being. Staying in a role that no longer challenges you is not fair to yourself or your supportive coworkers. By staying in your current role, you may be indirectly supporting the kind of unethical behavior you mentioned. Start exploring other employment opportunities that align with your career goals. You owe it to yourself to pursue a career that challenges you and provides opportunities for growth.
Unfortunately, when one works at STX, they need to look out for themselves because the company surely is not looking out for you. Your manager or lead may watch your back, but anything beyond that and you become a number/pawn to be moved around the chessboard. Wake up, this attitude is fine if you're single, but if you have others depending on you, you're not watching out for yourself, you're watching out for your people at home.
