Thread regarding USAA layoffs

Great support: Read prior posts.

Love that we can support each other here. So many questions to answers.

Hey can we make some ground rules?

  • No more rants about WARN. There’s a 80 comment thread. It’s been best to death
  • Questions about severance: see go/HRSC or go/hr search severance. Bank gets a year. Enterprise is based off time and highest pay.
  • Side comments about people’s traits. It just deters people away. Comment on actions. Inactions. Environment. Leadership.
  • RTO: Unpopular take. It’s been beat to death. Take it to slack: Wayne’s World. He’s responding. Not doing anything. But responding. That’s what we want. Leadership engagement. I’d propose shifting the conversation here from “RTO” to the impact policies will have on remote employees: and what’ isn’t clearly being communicated.
  • Passive aggressive comments. Yo. People are here as a 2nd to last resort. Stop pushing people to more of an edge. If all you have to contribute is how star spangled amazing USAA is: Why are you here?
  • There’s clearly a problem within the company. Reading other companies forums. There’s problems, not like this. Let’s start devising a means to act. At this rate they are going to end up firing this entire org. How do we protect ourselves? The members many people have spent decades serving. People left companies to come work for our unique mission and have work/balance, remote work, job security. That’s all being pulled out from under ALL of us.
  • This wave is only getting bigger and more rapid. We need to act.

What @opl+1mFtCHYa said and if you want your ridiculous rules, go create your own site.

For the most part, I agree. But you will soon find out there's a handful of tin foil hat present or past employees who just want to call people names, rant, and act like a child. Realistically, it makes the rest of us who want to improve things look bad, and drives many people away from sites like this. But that's how the world works now---you must assume everyone is acting in bad faith and must be at maximum outrage 24 hours a day.

Hot take: No. To all the above. And the audacity of one person to define "the rules" puts you up there with peacock. This place is a out the last place most of us have to voice anything. And that "trust" is diminishing with the fact this site deletes posts at will. For now ppl should be able to voice anything here. Especially RTO bc this is all we have and probably what keeps most ppl from just turtling deeper into depression than we already are. It should t be like this. But it is what it is.
