So so. I think there is a lot of benefit having your team there in person within a few feet of you. And there are other aspects like networking with people outside of those you are directly working with on the task at hand. But on the other hand permanent work from home would allow me to get out of Cook county where homes are much more affordable. I'm good either way
What does WFH have to do with being laid off?
Keep in mind WFH is a double-edged sword. You can be easily replaced by anybody anywhere with an internet connection. Especially risky if you are in a job that can easily be learned by someone else willing to work for less$.
