Thread regarding Refinitiv layoffs

Stand down Refinitiv management

Enough already of this "stand up Refnitiv" garbage the management team are wetting themselves over. DC started it, and it was lame when he said it. Now others are trying to please the principle by echoing it.

Someone referred to it today as they breatlessly announced they have setup a new bureaucracy to, I kid you not, "Drive Execution Together". Great timing. Suggested team motto: Be Executed Now. We are here to help. Call 1-800-RXT and quote special offer code "Fire! Ready! Aim!" for immediate assistance. Out the door.

Yes, yet ANOTHER pointless cross functional team of clueless managers to get in the way, create spreadsheets, generate PowerPoints, hold meetings and schedule "steering committees" and self-important review boards. Then excitedly publish progress against "deliverables" they've cobbled together from others' efforts. Value add: zero.

Let's be clear. This is the management team that has just whacked the organization in the knees. Repeatedly.

Boasting about how exciting it is watching it "Stand up" is like taking a baseball bat to Bambi and then standing around cheering as bloodied and in pain, it tries to recover from the parental beating.

Sociopaths.

Stand down Refinitiv management. You've not earned the respect to lead.

They are all incompetent but DC keeps them around like the ugly best friend to make him look good in comparison, and inflate his diversity score. But someone at least has a sense of humor, or maybe enjoys revenge? The undisputed champion of non-diverse diversity (beating even DC at endlessly promoting any available western woman, as opposed to actual diversity) and epic producer of powerpoints, org charts, hub posts, fantasy business cases, review boards, bureaucracy, travel reportage, self-aggrandizement and offsite agendas now has to lead the team responsible for actually selling the products they totally failed to deliver in their previous role! #karma

(Below message found on the TR board https://www.thelayoff.com/r/WtsXKsI . Life Refinitiv, the top layer forgot to look in the mirror when searching for "the right people in the right places")

When will we start cutting the people at the top ? those people who need to take some accountability for where this company is.

Too many are more interested in promoting themselves on social media (they know who they are) and hopping around the world looking after their cronies or self interest. For some, it looks like their job is to be constantly on Linked IN promoting themselves or their crony groups.

Too many are in positions where they are clearly out of their depth, but got there either because of their network or dare I say - HR diversity targets.

I look at some in very snr. positions where their CV, experience, qualifications would struggle to get them a similar job in another large organisation.

Others are just down right lazy and you rarely see them !

Time for change - but not at the layer where it is the people who are keeping this company going.

id--ts the lot of them, but why get rid of them before the layoffs are complete. Let them finish that so that new management can come in afterwards without the tarnish of being the ones that fired a quarter of the workforce.

When a company reduces it’s headcount by close to 25%-30% or has plans to reduce headcount to that extent within the near term of 3-6 months, that is a very clear indication of a weak and a failed management. I think Blackstone would be stupid(and I mean really stupid!!!!) to let Refinitiv still be run by TR management, DC and his leadership team. It is understandable when a company does a 5% reduction in employee workforce and terms that as optimisation etc, but a cut of 25%-30% in the name of optimisation indicates that this management has spent more time in the bars drinking wine of the company’s expenses instead of efficiently running the company.

I personally do not have any respect for DC or for any of his management and do pity the plight of the many thousands that have been let go by the company now and over the last few years. If only I was at the helm at Blackstone, I wouldn’t even pay a single penny to DC or his leadership as severance for their failed leadership.

BS need to fire DC and all his direct reports, and appoint people who aren't so heroically clueless.

Attended a panel on floor 30 with DC and his directs in, I wanna say 2014 / 2015. I remember thinking in the elevator afterwards: that has got to be the weakest management team I've ever seen. They have the personalities of lawn furniture, and are about as inspirational as the yellow pages.

But they do speak very highly of each other, and compensate themselves very well as they screw over the rest of the staff. So, they are Making Refinitive (formerly TR F&R) Great Again, for sure.
