I’ve come to realize how much worse things have become here following the recent layoffs and changes. People are incredibly deceitful and backstabbing, praising others one moment and then criticizing them in the next meeting to gain favor or serve leaders.
Is there anyone honest left, or did we eliminate them all? Perhaps that’s why we let good people go. Conform or be dismissed. This isn’t the Nike I’ve known for the past 20 years. It’s disheartening.

100% accurate also for EHQ tech. Many leaders/managers/directors hired people to do their work so whoever survived the last re-org are literally clueless.
@y6 Nike is honestly one of the worst companies I’ve worked for when it comes to employee treatment. The culture is horrific, people are used and discarded for others to climb the ladder, and employee feedback seems to be completly ignored. There are so many good places out there that treat people like human beings. I hate being stuck in a place I completely despise while the job market is this bad.
This isn't new. Nike has always been about the backstabbing and ladder climbing. Albeit, I believe it has gotten significantly worse over the past several years. I really miss the old Nike, but that is no more. Good luck to you all!

@h0 I was a part of seeing a large org spin up and mature at Nike the last 7 years. There were two political factions that formed near the beginning. One that got things done, made the company money, and exuded Nikes supposed values. The other delivered nothing for the company, spent all their time making themselves visible, attacking others delivering value, and generally creating an unprofessional toxic environment. I was more than once threatened by this factions management for simply disagreeing with them. After the last round of layoffs all the leadership and most of the ICs from the “good” faction have been let go. Most of the leadership from the “bad” faction have been elevated to the top of the org. I assume this pattern has taken place across the company.
I have always remained consistent over the years in whom I speak badly. However, I have also tried to be more patient and lenient, even towards the people who have betrayed me in the past. After the layoffs, I feel even more detached from Nike than ever. I am not sure how much longer I will remain there, since layoffs occur every 6 months. Not only has this company used me in the worst way possible, taken my ideas and credited others, but at times, I was even harassed, insulted, and mistreated by many people in my team. Above all, I survived and delivered work. I view work as a transaction: you are there to get paid for your services. Don't make too many friends, don't trust anyone, don't criticize too much, don't get involved in the office politics, mind your own business, and go home to your private life and collect your paycheck. Don't spend too much time on this site either. Save your sanity and chart your own path to care for yourself and your family. Even though the companies make a profit, they are dead set on treating us like rats these days. I think it is time to start exploring alternative paths. Let them roll in their own profits as I strongly believe that karma is a bit.ch. It does not save anyone.
Double merit for a female , and double for person of color, during the hiring process, is what my VP told us in 2021.
