Extra PTO day in 2025 for “all” full-time associates

The extra PTO day will only be given to associates accruing below a certain amount each year. “Legacy” associates, or those grandfathered at higher accrual will not receive the extra PTO day as communicated during open enrollment.

Another sign older associates are being pushed out

I'm grandfathered.

"that most likely means you also have a pension"

Uhh, nope.

"a 401K"

Yeah...me and everyone who's been here more than, what, 6 months?

"and are already enjoying additional PTO days the rest of us are not getting."

...because I've given a LOT of years to this company. (Translation: I earned it.)

"Not sure why I keep seeing people complaining about not getting the additional ONE DAY but I find it annoying and offensive."

It's not the one day, it's the fact that they loudly touted the one day as an added benefit for "all" in 2025, with ZERO up-front reference to the fact that it wasn't being given to everyone. Typical self-aggrandizing behavior from our HR leadership.

I would like to think that there are countless other things about this company to annoy and offend you other than your long-time fellow employees feeling ripped off by leadership's cheap tactics.

If you are grandfathered in for the additional PTO days, that most likely means you also have a pension, a 401K and are already enjoying additional PTO days the rest of us are not getting. Not sure why I keep seeing people complaining about not getting the additional ONE DAY but I find it annoying and offensive.

I had reached out to HR/payroll and was told the same thing as original post indicates, minus the comment about pushing older associates out.

The extra PTO day has nothing to do with existing employees. It has to do with trying to recruit people from outside of the company for these pathetically low salaries and AIP percentages. They think one more day of PTO will help them be more competitive with other companies.
