Just got word that some departments are being moved to Deloitte and these individuals will now be Deloitte employees. What is going on?

So what happens to your PTO when rebadged? Do you get to keep what you currently accrue at? Or start over as a Deloitte starting employee? And I’d assume different health insurance etc
What is rebadging? Rebadging is the process of transferring people from one organization to the other. More specifically, companies enter contracts with vendors providing services to have the vendor hire employees the original company wishes to retain.
What “production support“ team did this impact? Is it production support for medical management, claims, providers?
Training offshore for 3 years.
Sounds like a great growth opportunity, learning and training.
Pulled this from Delloitte's layoff page.
Summary
Poor work life balance, toxic project culture, poorly sold projects (staffing and scope not well planned and defined), ridiculous working hours, contractions in the top leadership’s vision and project leadership’s execution. The project leadership cares only about their profits, the resources are just dime a dozen.
You are being forewarned right here right now..Like the other poster said DO NOT take a position with Deloitte, if you're laid off from Elevance. However on the flip side if Deloitte offers you a job after being laid off and you turn it down you don't get your severance. It's a quandary I tell you.
80ish people total in Production Support/CSBD. 40ish going to Deloitte with a three year contract and 40ish laid off at the end of May.
What departments? How many associates? Seems like trading horses.
Ok so some jobs could be lost because of it. Then Deloitte will go after you to hire you. Do t do it. I've been around long enough that they will use you, work you , and relocate you. If Deloitte does offer you a position and you are laid you may have to take it as Elevance won't pay you severance if you turn down a job . This is very normal where we've had Deloitte and IBM at the same time. They all have chips on their shoulders and think they're going to change and or fix everything.
Some teams and people were already talked to about this. I wonder if all were already informed.
The department I know for a fact that will be shifted to Deloitte is Production support. And only half the dept (approximately 40ish people)
It’s not a rumor

Deloitte sponsored 3,080 H1bs last year, 5,190 the year before.
Deloitte is where all of the folks McKinsey turns away go. The criteria for Deloitte is not the same as McKinsey.
Deloitte is one of the big 4 public accounting firms. Deloitte as a 1st job out of college is a very prestigious job. Deloitte hires high caliber, top talent.
If you are going to Deloitte, it's actually a good thing to have on your resume because getting hired directly is usually very tough. You'll be able to find a job more easily after having Deloitte on your resume. But be warned that they will work you. The work setup is similar to a law firm with billable hours and mandatory requirement to meet those hours. Otherwise, you get axxed.
Place su-ks. Like someone referenced in another post the VPs and Staff VPs all say yes and never push back which forces the toxic culture everyone underneath feels. Everyone gets burnt out and then let go. No one stands up for front line ever. Very sorry to all those impacted but hopefully you all land somewhere much much better
More teams will be going to Deloitte? Is anyone safe anymore?
Sorry to hear this. It's over here for all of us. Now is the time to figure out the next move. Put this place behind you.
@wzu+1rXtFEVL what department? Or if you don't want to go into details. What type of work?
Unfortunately, it is definitely not a rumor.
It is true. Impacted by this bulls** today. Obliterated our whole entire team. Half the team are allowed to go to Deloitte and work for them. They’re probably better off. They’ll probably get better benefits and pay over there.
The rest of us will basically have no jobs by 5/31. They claim they’re going to place us in other positions if they come open elsewhere in the organization before 5/31. Read: We’re just going to string you along and act like we’re going to help you stay employed so you keep working like a good little slave…then once we work the dog sh** out of you we’re going to RIF you.
It should come as no surprise.
Is Delloitte one of those sketchy offshore companies that you pay a few hundred dollars per month for HR services?
Not sure who Deloitte is as a company and how would it be possible that associates can just be moved to another company. Will someone please help explain it. Thanks very much
This could be just a rumor
Did some research. So it looks like they do consulting. Financial auditing and assurance. Sounds like their auditors are accountants that take on private company audits. They don't seem to audit people like member service employees/nurses. It all looks like the financial side. Seems like a ton of financial advise and risk management. If that helps for people asking which departments. Sounds like work will just get outsourced. Not sure why they would take on employees. They have had layoffs themselves. Feels like Elevance got rid of so many people that they'll be outsourcing some of their work to Deloitte for cheaper.
It’s a way for companies to offload expenses so it doesn’t show in their books and leave the firing to someone else.
It’s a win win if you are an exec.
Any word on what type of work would be moved out?
Rebadging sux and never ends well for the employee. Hopefully you will get layedoff. Evelance has sunk to new lows. It's the bottom of the barrel now.
It's called rebadging and it's been done many times before.
@nsu+1rXtFEVL I agree. That does not make any sense.
That does not sound correct. Delloitte is a consultant. But, I've seen companies hire a vendor and move their employees to the vendor. IBM?
Do you know which departments?
