Thread regarding State Farm Insurance layoffs

I would leave now.....get ready!

Just giving everyone a heads up, don't say someone didn't warn you!! JF said it's a 3 year plan and you better get on board! We all know what that's code for! Auto and Fire claims are getting tossed upside down again and they are moving leaders/CSs everywhere against their will. ILR and Express are basically done and Express is running out of work daily. Fire ILR is rolling into Fire Managed. Complex will be turned into the next Express sh-thole. ET has a hiring freeze and Auto U/W is getting automated. They think they are "southern rich" with employees! Getting brave! JF has to make his big splash and remember he is a little pencil d-ck MT prodigy bean counting piece of sh-t that is flanked by two re-tarded agents that are now running the company. We are doubling down on a useless and broke business model. If you have not noticed, they have accepted their faith as #2..#3.... and say they want to be the leader of companies that have captive agents and were are a technology company.....LMAO! They are trying their best to run everyone off, especially tenured employees, except those employees that meet the "2040" woke guidelines. Just look at the upper leadership, VPs and other Execs. Like a Disney move remake and every meeting is like a bad Saturday Night Live sketch or watching MSNBC or The View. The Titanic is sinking and they know it, they lost control and have no way or plan to save it! We have been watching this for over the last decade and everyone knows it! They are going to do everything and I mean everything to avoid paying severance and force mass quitting! The pension is done /frozen next year so just get ready! Again they are going to do everything they can to get you to quit and micromanage you out the door! This is really not even a legitimate business anymore and is a total clown show everyday you walk in! Take their money as long as you can and be sure to utilize every single benefit you have coming! Keep that resume shined up folks! Going to be a bumpy ride!

For anybody reading this that doesn't think it is true - think again. I was "reassigned" to a terrible cr-ppy job that I had done prior and actually struggled my butt off. Took a huge pay cut to get out of that job. Spent three years trying to get back - and right when I turned 55 i was re-assigned to that cr-ppy job. NO explanation, no details, no support, no contact from upper management to explain. No "thank you for helping out" - NOTHING! I have zero choice other than to quit. I was VERY happy in my job prior to this. They didn't reduce employees in my old department - they REPLACED me when they moved me to this nightmare job. I would have NEVER thought they would call me back to an area that I left even losing money to get out and protect my pension. I don't know if the upper leadership is totally stupid, evil, or what. But, I'm stressed out, freaked out, suffering medical trouble. I see a fellow sought an ADA due to this stress as they also re-assigned him back to the cr-ppy job (that he already had an ADA from) and they now took him out of that job but he had to take a huge pay cut.

See that is what they want and they have stated it before! One of our VPOs recently said, in a meeting, that the pressure is real and it will not stop. We/Exec feel that is when employees perform their best! Let me translate for you, keep you scared everyday that you come into work that we may fire you, reassign you to a sh-t department or micro manage you to such a degree you quit! Bonus, SF loses your higher salary, hires someone new, cheaper, and we save money! Welcome to the corporate America scam or as they call it the American dream!

Whatever the plan is. I wish they'd do it already. Sick of worrying if I will have a job or not.

Just go read the other insurance companies boards on here. Outsourcing to India, AI, more automation, and the exact same tactics of constant pressure, reassignments, demotions, and a horrible environment to keep people moving out the door to keep expenses down and Exec bonuses up! That is their 3, 5, 10 year plan! If I was young and didn't have some many years, I would not spend one more day at any insurance company, especially State Farm. These people are absolute sc-m of the earth! There is a special place in h-ll for them! Like CS said in the Exec briefing no one can afford our products anymore! I wonder why!

3 year plan! You have to remember, COVID only interrupted their weed out plan. MT and now JF and former SF Agents-KC and CS think the reason why SF is not successful is because operations/claims employees are useless and just won't execute their fabulous business plans. Crying MT said many times he must prove this business model works! They do not understand claims and how this business truly works! They are automating underwriting and will eliminate thousands of jobs in the next 3 years. ILR and Express will basically go away, Auto and Fire claims is a disaster with its skill based routing and one size fits all approach. In the next three years they will have their dream "utopia" and will have run off all the "old timers" and have a workforce of mindless drones. They see spending money on you as a complete waste of time and money regardless of their rhetoric. Companies that think they are lean and "tech" companies believe in completely upsetting the workforce every 8-10 years. It is why they keep everything in constant drama and upset the apple cart. Most of us have had 4,5,6 new bosses in the last several years and have been yanked every which way from Sunday! Remember they want to make this place so miserable that you leave! Especially if you have been here more than 10 years! They see you as completely useless and total waste of money!

@ns You claim you see active employees out and about during the day but you are retired. I am still working (yes from home since they closed my and leased out the building) and could no longer identify anyone I used to work with in my Op Center after 5 years of not regularly seeing them other than a really few close work friends. I call BS on you, crawl back into your mom's basement and don't come out until she calls youm for dinner.

@ns a capable engineer doesn't need to be in the office 24/7. One of the most incompetent engineers that had 25 years of statefarm experience, working from office most of their career, was the most incompetent, opinionated and talkative person I ever met. What did you do for the last 25 years? Talk to a wall ?

Bring all the WFH into the office right after they clear ILR etc. As a retiree that spent well over 30 years working 10 to 12 hrs days 5 to 6 days a week with no timecard, it is time these youngins learn to commute, move to an office, and develop a work ethic. I am tired of seeing them in grocery stores, shopping malls, and coffee shops playing while on the clock. That goes for mgmt as well. It is stealing and many have done it for way too long. Turn out the lights SF the party is over!

Confirmed with someone I know who is very reliable that sometime later this year, all Auto Claims Team Managers are going to have to reapply for their jobs just like they did when we went to future state. Going to start sending people back to Total Loss, Injury etc... because they have realized they f-cked up so bad that no one knows what they are doing. Had no plan for claim knowledge transfer over the last decade and the regulators are breathing down their throats! Plus they have to do something with all the ILR, Express and Auto Underwriting leadership that is not gong to have a job in the next 12 months. Get ready for the continued sh-t show! It will also be another reason to weed out pension eligible employees and shed higher salaries, including eliminate people with a lot of PTO and those that are not stupid enough to buy into their continued propaganda! These people are sc-m of the earth!

LMAO @dt...you obviously have no clue how a pension works, they constantly have to increase funding as the funding is based on your salary that goes up every year! Yes, it is fully funded but that does not mean they have to stop contributing to it. It is the exact opposite, as salaries go up, they have to contribute more and more as the biggest part of the contributions, towards the pension, takes place from usually 55-62/highest salary years for most. If you leave at/before 55 and start taking your pension when eligible, it is reduced by 30%+! Pension is calculated based on your 5 highest years earnings! So if they can get people to leave or retire years and years early, it decreases the amount that is withdrawn or has to be contributed to keep it fully funded! By your logic every company should have kept their pension plans! The reason, anyone with any common sense knows, that companies did away with pension plans is because they are so much more expensive to fund than 401k contribution plans. Yes they will freeze it, and soon! They have been trying to weed out pension eligible employees as fast as they possibly can for years and now they are not even trying to hide the fact!

A 3 yr plan to do what? Get rid of wfh? Such more that we already do? Or to get to number 10? Result will likely be all 3.

Get rid of about a dozen of you who post here, and everything will work out.
And BTW——stop predicting a “freeze” of the pension. It’s been fully funded and has needed no contributions for years. There’s nothing to “ freeze”

The company can survive but they have to freeze the pension immediately. Financial drain. Mandatory buyouts for those with less than 10 years. Optional buyouts for those with more time. Layoff remote workers. The contract they signed to work remote states no severance if job is eliminated. Full return to the office. No more binging Netflix and mowing your lawn in company time. If this CEO can’t enforce this we need to find a new one.

Amen! I'm surprised everyday I come to work that this place is even able to function. The systems are pure garbage, agent's are completely useless and create more problems then they are worth and our Execs keep rolling out the same tired ole message points from 20 years ago. I cancelled all my policies about two years ago when they started ja--ing up my rates. These people are crooks and con artists!
