With HBO Max having No Impact On AT&T’s financials, and after billions invested, why..WHY, Institutional Investors continue in keeping the stock alive?

To date the Iridium constellation has several uncontrolled satellites and one crashed into a Russian sat and a lot out of service. They only had 66 sats but wanted 77, execution? Think there might be some liability along with some global consequences with thousands hurling around the earth.

Just what the world needs more space junk, how is the Iridium system working out? We heard all about how it was going to be the next giant k–ler for years. Everything is perfect on the ole whiteboard and computer simulations in the lab but then execution, cost, sales, reliability and reality happens.

umm, some people are really uninformed...

Some said they prefer... well projects like this one was never been implemented before. so no one really knows to prefer, lol

Others said, dozen satellites? It will be in the thousands.

Yeah, I have to get on my wireline internet when a bad storm is happening because my satellite tv service is down when a tornado warning has been issued. But hey the companies say it’s 99.9% reliable, it’s just that crucial .1% happens when I really need information.

The same person has been touting this satellite internet on here for a while. You’d think he’s in marketing or something... lol. Another job justifier, AT&T has plenty of those so go peddle your wares elsewhere. We get it you want to keep your job with the satellite company and are worried because you’ve been beating this drum for a long time and still no product or customers.

Sat Internet is going to be a bust for anyone that wants more than 10M of speed. And it is very likely not to hit that either. The switching needed to support dozens of mini satellites buzzing across the sky based on LOS and EbNo is astounding. Musk even admitted that the terminals (found stations at users homes) has not been successfully developed yet and will be the weak point because of too many variables.

I prefer land based fiber over satellite, less lag for when I’m gaming or buying and selling stocks. Don’t have to worry about storm clouds at a crucial time.

EG has very little to do with HBO, really most of thier time goes towards Directv and AT&T TV.

I see there are still some people stupid enough to believe that satellite signals are so weak and finicky that they go out at the first sign of weather.

Nope. The type of weather needed to disrupt a satellite signal is the same that would topple poles, and render any/all land or cell tower signal worthless. Of course, once the weather is done, there's no need to repair a satellite. The signal gets through again. Unlike standard wire service.

Is it a wonder the fossils at T doubt the future of satellite broadband? Right in line with the rest of their stale outdated opinions and decisions.
Left that cesspool years ago. Good riddance to regressionists.

because it Is not jusT 1 satellite MY YOUNG APPRENTICE.

It will be a A fully connected network, complete topology, or full mesh network with direct link between all pairs of nodes.
n nodes, there are n(n-1)/2 direct links. Networks designed with this topology are usually very expensive to set up, that us where TESLA will provide a high degree of reliability scale full mesh if thousand satellites, redundancy wins the day

@sgb, everyone is complaining about the satellite TV service being a bust. Why would Satellite Internet be any better. Besides, that's been tried multiple times. Might be good for the boonies, but the masses will take land based - easier to service close to the ground.

What about reliability and security?

Wonder how great the satellite systems are during a storm while you are trying to do something important? Most users want a fixed line for security, reliability , essential services and processes..

Sorry, T again is doing everything late. Tesla Starlink is the name of a satellite network that will provide broadband internet service and already did a test partnership between the US Air Force and Starlink, called Global Lightning, saw download speeds of 610 Mbps the internet service should start by the end of 2020. 5G download speeds is between 400-500 Megabit per second (Mbps) range.

Of course HBOmax Is a flop, let's see, let's launch yet another over the top service Into a crowded market, let's restrict it to our hardware and yeah let's do this all at the height of a pandemic when millions are losing their jobs and cutting discretionary spending. Sounds like a great marketing plan .

But in the end T will probably wind up selling Time Warner ,it's still am asset albeit a depreciating one.

But their cash cow is going to be 5G , that's what the market expects the focus to be.

Att is rigging the subscriber base by including att customers with elite plans as paying hbo customers , there not !!!!

Stock holders need to request the actual paying customers to see how this company has wasted millions on another failed service.
