New Job Titles

For the new job titles-If everyone on my team was an ORC 4, how did we all map over differently? Some are now senior, some are now lead. Everything I read said Managers did not have the ability to change competency levels for each employee and that the titles don't reflect our performance as individuals (so not customized by managers, done by HR and Sr. execs). It's very confusing. I have read every FAQ and also asked my manager but not getting a clear answer.

Then you weren't all 4s, the Lead is a level above so 5 in this case.

Call me whatever you want. I’m here for the paycheck.

Same here. I was a 6 and now I'm a Lead. My pay didn't change so it doesn't make much difference and comparing yourself to others that you know is a fool's errand IMO.

We haven’t had ORC4 in years. You saw what the titles were, and generally people were mapped over to the same Risk title with the new nomenclature.

How do you know they were ORC 4? All it ever showed was Operational Risk Consultant. Perhaps you presumed them to be ORC4 like you?

For example when we were all ASE on my team, i never mentioned that i was ASE6 to anyone. There was never a reason for anyone to know my level, it didn’t change how i did my job. However, when they mapped us all over to software engineer, people noticed because i was now Snr Software Engineer ( and now Lead Software Engineer)

There were titles. They had to be filled. They were filled. It wasn't up for discussion, it just needed to be done. Show them where you belong, by your work and actions taken, rather than by your questions.
