No money you fool, you will be fired before you get the RSU´s, it is the story of the carrot and the donkey.

It’s great if they give you a lot of rsu’s and it goes up when it vests or shortly after. You should sell it soon as this stock is volatile and you could lose the gains. However if you got the rsu’s at its peak and sell some but the value is down you will be upset. No right , no wrong. Keep milking it as long as you can. Just do not hold on to it thinking it will always go up. You just dont know. Either way, good luck and hope those with rsu’s make millions to retire.

If you're in tech long term and you make good $$ - must mean you're corrupt and greedy and unempathetic and inhuman and dictatorial.
If you're NOT making good $$ - just calling others the adjectives above(?).
That math = old fashion human jealousy.
Sure, everyone who works hard for high $$ are EVIL. Keep believing that if it helps self-worth I guess.

It depends what level you are at. If you were on a team that promoted well, then it is life changing. Otherwise, it is just okay. level 4’s and below are only getting a fraction of their sallarires whereas thos at 5 and above are seeing multiples.

Life changing to see greed and corruption up close. Long time colleagues and managers becoming unempathic tools of the Hock.

It’s amazing how Hock can rot any semblance of humanity out of a company. Oh yea, I guess that is the way now with the orange dictator in charge.

Looking forward to the drone strikes in the parking lot to take the working class out with prejudice while the mgmt enjoys their third home and second Learjet.

An immoral company though and though.

@wx well we got 8x so far (with 15 Dec). It's FAR better than the old VMware days....

@nd Your estimates are roughly correct but likely too high to say that's for all lvl6-8, as the biggest factor in total comp is WHEN you came in and whether you are past 4 yrs. If you been here say 5+ years then your 4-year vests that are annually refreshed are now at 4 stacks per year... plus the 4-5 years the market has boosted the dollar value of your earlier vests by 900%, as AVGO has about a 900% gain in the last 5 yrs. So mileage varies depending on how long you survive before you get booted, that's the main factor.

Life changing if they vest and you get them....otherwise it's just counting one's chicks before they hatch.

@r5 Thank you! It beats how Omnissa turned out (we had such high hopes…)

@qs

I got 320 shares pre-split as a P5 PSO. Ended up being 3,200 after the split.

How many welcome RSUs were given to P5s at the acquisition?
I was in EUC -> Omnissa, and we didn’t get those. I’m curious to hear what I missed out on. :-|

Last calendar year my TC was 2.5 mil at L5. It depends on when you joined. I joined during the peak madness of pandemic hiring frenzy. They gave me so many RSUs. This year it's going to be insane with the stock going crazy.

This should be close, correct it if no:
USA $ TC

L6 - $1.6M
L7 - $4M
L8 - $8M

Does that seem about right? Maybe this is even about 20% higher now with recent moves.

The inhumane treatment of employees is also life changing.

Thanks Uncle Hock for reinforcing my worthlessness in this world. All hail.

Do you think Crowley will save us from getting fired?

What remains after taxes and fees is significantly less. Definitely good enough. I bought gold in my home country and locked in a safe deposit locker. When I get back home I can sell some every year and live comfortably.

Money in the bank is what will stay with you. Easy come easy go. Thanks HR.

It doesn't matter.
In the end, its all ashes (or soil, if you prefer burial)

I admit it. It is life changing even for normal engineers. Even if they eventually kick me out like so many other tech co's who all fire and RIF and cull and offshore and outsource every year, I don't have to go find another master cause of this money in the bank to live on. The real vengeance from any pains or 'evils' of this job is eventually not needing it and living well.

OP is right. I ended up on the Omnissa side, but would have LOVED to stay at broadcom.
Uncle Hock and I would have gotten along great and the RSU money would have been great.

Good grief people, if you want to be a critic, take a few English courses. Read books with big words. Learn big words. Spicoli would be proud of you.

The word you want is: serf.

surf /sûrf/
noun

The waves of the sea as they break upon a shore or reef.

serf /sûrf/
noun

A member of the lowest feudal class, legally bound to a landed estate and required to perform labor for the lord of that estate in exchange for a personal allotment of land.

Yes, especially for VPs and above. Makes them get in line to massacrê the surfs when Uncle Hock asks to change the life of 90% of the employees to unemployed.

Don’t let money buy your morals. Bcom is evil-corp.
