Thread regarding Ford layoffs

Happy Easter

Wishing everyone a very happy Easter.

While we all take pride in our careers and the work we do, it’s worth remembering that the most meaningful parts of life don’t come from our jobs or workplaces; they come from home.

Family (real family), faith, and joy are the things that truly matter, and they’re never defined by a title or a paycheck.

@183 I go to church from time to time, it helps. My approach is usually just find a fun enough job or work that it distracts from other stuff. I work on performance vehicle programs, so this is like my project car.

@n1 Good to hear, I hope things get better for you. I've had some tough luck in life, people aren't kind, and the last few years here have not been different. I've always tried to compensate by being as nice as humanly possible, and that usually works. This place, it doesn't work, I feel as if that kindness has been used against me, bit of a mean girls situation. I've been struggling with how to deal with that, part of me wants to shut down, and just go through the motions, but I'm getting better, won't let them win at that game. I'd recommend trying church, or volunteering. I've done both in the past and that helps to get your mind off this place and remind you there is a bigger world. Family and friends also help a lot, I'm fortunate in that way. There are a few of us still at work who believe in decency and just being kind, but we're unfortunately not the majority.

@kd Nah, idk what that one refers to 😂 I’m pretty good at stress management or minimizing things to worry about.

@bv They don’t work for Ford directly, which is likely why they’re happy…

@kc Be honest, are you also the one with 100 problems?

@f1 Yes. Typed that on a bad day, but still meant it all. Some of us only got work, keeps the mind busy.
@k0 No offense taken lol.

@f0 Fair point. I know holidays can hit people very differently, and I didn’t mean it in a way that excluded anyone. I still hope today brings you a little peace.

@OP

"we all take pride in our careers and the work we do"

Speak only for yourself. I take no pride in this sh---y job, sh---y "leadership", and the sh---y company overall.

The only pride comes into the time and resources I waste, week in and week out.

@an

That was a d-mb comment. Facility workers in my building are some of the hardest working and nicest people I've gotten to know over the years.

Have you gotten to know any of the cleaning staff? Some of them are the nicest people in the place. The same goes for the cafeteria and concierge people.
