Corporate capitalism at its finest . It’s an unfortunate reality that the almost dollar trumps everyone and everything. There’s no loyalty . Sadly, we must take our skills and plug them somewhere else , but to lay off massive a punts of Allstate employees during a pandemic is like kicking your grandma while she’s down . No other insurance company did what Allstate did and I’m fact a couple insurance carriers even gave every single one of their workers a stimulus type check during the pandemic hardship .

Yeah, its morally bankrupt, especially now with that stupid "Let's Make Money" commercial. Wonder whose bright idea that was? Insurance is for protection and peace of mind at a competitive price, not screwing everyone under no matter what to make a buck.
I get the comment about trimming the fat, it makes total sense but why let so many lower level D and C bands go the minis who actually do the work and keep most of bonus levels. Then months after the 2020 layoff they are posting more roles for VPs, director levels and F bands! What the actual F! Who is left to do the role with million of people creating strategy and all having to put their name on it ?!
@1vdm+1a6XMyKM already did because of a–holes like you who think they can do no wrong and that everything is because of evil leadership and not because it's not worth paying entitled a–holes to do half assed work when you can get the same result from people in india without all the complaining and for a fraction of the price.
I got tired of working with people that did everything they could to avoid doing work, and got the hell out. Now those people are actually being held accountable and it's because TW or GS are evil and not because those people s— at their job.
@1vnw Perhaps if you are so supportive and in the with Allstate's action of the last 12 months you should resign your position and paycheck for the good of the company.
I would maybe be able to go along with your position if:
1) Tom and Glenn not outright lied constantly about all the concerns and questions of possible layoffs during the pandemic...only to announce the denied layoffs a few months later.
2) They not been so smug in saying the layoffs were not because of financial issues at the time but to prepare for the next 5+ years. You don't do that with skyrocketing unemployment, plummeting job market, and at a time of a global health crisis.
3) They had not a few months after announcing mass layoffs spent $4 billion dollars to acquire another insurance company while laying off thousands for the purpose of increasing market share instead of fixing the outdated broken system to gain market share the right way.
4) Had Tom and Glenn and other fat cat executives at top not received their biggest bonuses in years for "reducing costs" done through the layoffs.
5) Had the process to do said layoffs not been in an arrogant, unethical way full of lies, deceit, and falsities. Including the ridiculous puzzle tests and assessments that weren't even used at determining who to lay off and were only legal tricks to cover their own asses against age discrimination suits and claims which is exactly what went on here.
Now back to your Northbrook office!

The company has a TON of lifers that are not adding value to the company, they're just doing what they've neglected to over the last couple decades... Trim the fat.
That isn't too say the leadership isn't incompetent or a–holes, they are just doing what executives do these days when it's advantageous to the budget to outsource labor

This is very true. They just have some of the most soulless, disgusting, egomaniac moral sewers doing it in the most deliberately hurtful, areas causing, inconsiderate ways possible. Shapiro, Wilson, and the gang enjoy making people hurt and suffer. There is a special place in Hell for them.
