Thread regarding State Farm Insurance layoffs

Rate your TM

I am curios to see the responses. During my career at State Farm I had 6 managers. Honestly, out of 6 managers only 1 of them was a decent human being. The other 5 are horrible people.

My team manager was a literal demon, sadistic, narcissistic. of course she's been there for 11 years and is still there! Complete id--t didn't know anything about claims and is a hideous female body builder. Enjoy H*ll for all the misery you caused your employees that looked to you for help. Those personality disorders go ALL THE WAY TO THE C SUITE. SHAME ON YOU ALL, ESPECIALLY C SUITE AND THE BOARD. Sick, sick company.

I've had one TM since I started 3 years ago and I know that's not the norm. I have no beef with my TM because I've been in front line leaders before at other orgs and I will never do it again. You get cr-p from all sides, so I realize TMs only have so much power and they're human too. That being said, this company's upper leadership and their consultants don't have my vote of confidence. I can't wait to ask for my shipping label and check out of society/traditional jobs just like Gen Z. Sc--w it and this place with its unrealistic/unhealthy workload and expectations.

Look at how many TMs and above are married into another within the company. If you think there isn't any Eric Swalwell going on in the company, you are niave. I had a TM that was married and divorced multiple times and living with another in the company. Total mess.

On a Scale of 1-10 - Zero (0) mainly to showing Favoritism to certain members of their team. Watch their behaviors, and actions; and you will know the Truth (good-or-bad).

Yes, TM's are sorta powerless with almost all company related issues, this i agree with, however, your TM has a MASSIVE impact on an employees day to day experience, as well with waaay too much power to restrict promotions and applying out to other roles, this and playing yearly rating/raise game is why people hate their TM so much.

So yeah TM cant make RTO go away, but they sure make the day to day grind awful, seem to be only a point of negativity and the low-trust environment where you have to explain everything like your up to no good.

Basically TMs take an already stressful role, and amplify it, all while playing games with rating/raises, and being an overall weight on you stopping you from rising and moving on to better roles.

This is why no one likes the TMs, why would I? They do nothing positive for me, and only make my job harder (also they dont know my role, at alll....and could never do the work i do)

They make so much money and all they do is sit in meeting, metrics, meetings about metrics, meeting about printouts about metrics.....metrics metrics metrics....

Such a waste of money for effectively a nanny that makes sure i show up for 7.75hrs a day and actually work during the day.....which id do anyway (i know many wouldnt though)

The south has both advantages and disadvantages. Ive been all around this country. Most people east of the mississippi river are generally angry and jealous. State Farm today is no different than society in general. Very ill.

@mt You could even say setting up hubs in the South was a Lost Cause.

@mr They built hubs in the South and their workforce is the product of Southern policies. Turns out not investing in education because of hating taxes and hating certain groups has consequences. Thoughts and prayers.

The 2040 workforce that State Farm has hired is like herding cats. Most have a below average IQ, lazy, lack an ounce of common sense and the "fatigue" with them is real. You could not pay me enough money to be a TM and deal with the trash this company has hired. Throw in the fact they have no authority to change the internal operations or business model....it's why SF is a disaster.

@jr You made a good point to
fire all first line leaders as they are useless and without authority. Like agents TMs are wasted overhead with zero value.

Stop blaming your TM. Yes there are some id--ts out there. They have zero authority, no magic wands, very little if any authority to change anything at SF and are threatened with their jobs routinely. All decisions in this company are made at the VP level and above. If you push back in front line leadership you will get fired. Every employees thinks they would "tell them how it really is" are clueless, no you wouldn't and stay employed. Execs know what they are doing, you are not part of their "Club" and they don't care what you think. You and including any and all levels below them are disposable! Rate the Execs = 0!

State Farm has lost all of its dignity at all levels of leadership. They are not to be trusted.

3 managers in a span of 6 years, 4 teams and the current one is the longest, the worst and also cost me my promotion to a sc-mbag inexperienced claims specialist that got promoted to IT. He also used my work to get promoted to lead and he finessed current d-mb manager.
That shows how its all about people you rub elbows with, how you use people and not skill or your own impact. Its why statefarm will always continue failing for the foreseeable future.

Or just look at indeed reviews, every other review complains about the TM. Just get an AI TM and so many issues will go away....im not kidding....TMs are usually forced to be metric obsessed nannies for children due to a SM who think the workers are that, children. Its a toxic management culture of zero trust.
