I received two inquiries from “recruiters” just yesterday asking if I was open to pursuing job opportunities. Last two layoffs I’ve been a part of at “other” large corporations- same thing happened, Corporate tries to re-home employees prior to restructuring and lay-offs. Less staff to compensate based on years of service, salary, unemployment, etc.
Layoffs and replace us with engineers in India
C-suite isn't replacing us. They are having us replace ourselves. Primarily because they are inept, but also because they are psychopaths.

@mr So sorry to hear that.
Can confirm I was notified this week my position was made redundant and would be laid off along with several others in my area,and backfilled by a MSP. They are retaining me for several months while these contractors come on board some of my coworkers were let go same day.

I saw this coming when they built a new facility in India and posted job openings just for India.
The sad part is GM and the rest of his buddies will keep their jobs or at least leave with golden parachutes. Meanwhile, AMERICANS lose their jobs and starve.
Basic, this sums the replies up:
I saw the same thing in other big medtech companies. Bring in Indian CTO, mass layoffs of Americans, forced retirements of senior leadership. Then come more Indians, more offshore teams. Then the quality crashed, FDA fines, lawsuits. Still, they continue. Disgusting stuff.
