Thread regarding Sam's Club layoffs

How much multitasking is your limit?

I’ve worked in retail before and I don’t make complains because of the multitasking I have to do, but because of the multitasking that is impossible to do. The problem with this company is that when they get an employee who does their job well, they make that job impossible for him over time. The more you work here, the less respected you are. Everything here is urgent, and the division of labor is awful. They don’t care how people feel in total chaos with multitasking, while some other employees are chilling.

@mqk I've been a Merchandising Lead at a number of retailers. All that you described was my job. I enjoyed keeping busy and not standing around. The more I multitasked the more I learned and got better at.

They know we aren’t going to do anything but talk and they pay us less than the new hires! Just sad!

Merchandising leads, at least at my club, are responsible for layouts, audits, making sure zoning is done “PROPERLY”, making sure things are stocked properly, and even have to work receiving some days. Feels like they crammed 5 old positions into one or something.
