Thread regarding DXC Technology layoffs

It should be clear, that we never get payraises.

Well, well, my lovely fireflies! I hope your excitement for this meeting is as immense as my eagerness to inform you that the long-awaited rain of salary hikes will, regrettably, not be gracing us with its presence. Ah, I can practically smell the tears of disappointment as you ponder whether your bank account will ever glimpse the light of financial contentment. But hey, why bother with such mundane matters as "more money" when you have the privilege of working here? After all, your invaluable efforts and tireless dedication are already rewarded by the copious amounts of paper clips and paper scraps, right? So, ladies, grab a cup of the delicious "No Salary Raise" tea we brewed especially for this occasion, and let's shed a tear together – but, of course, only if it's of priceless emotional value.

Let's be serious.

In the last Townhall it was said "We are paid to meet our goals, we haven't met them, that's why there are no raises."

Management will simply set unachievable goals year after year, and thus never have to give a raise.

There will be isolated wage increases in the form of promotions. The only way I know to get a wage increase.

The audacity to say that!!! The exec team were given huge bonuses, based on ‘merit’ but they won’t award a measly pay rise to their workers. Where is the repercussions for the executives who also didn’t meet their goals?!!!

@mqh+1okL4L57 The Company goals are: 20% growth.

"Forget about goals. What does this leadership want from us?"

I have absolutely no idea. I don't even see a corporate strategy. At the Town Hall I was hoping to hear some details about the DXC "AI", but at least I got two BINGO in bullsh-t BINGO together.

This is 2023.
Why is payraise still a topic?
Since founding DXC it became very clear that payraises will not happen on regular basis.
Yes, some get an uplift due to startegic reasons, like to high attrition rate e.g. in India, or due to lack of alternatives even in high pay countries.
Nevertheless it was always ment to get the cost faster down than customers are able to leave. So no payraises are in the "play book".
Still it is recurringly discussed here, with the same arguments, and with the same outcome.

2014 (no raise -3%)
2015 (no raise -3%)
2016 (no raise -3%)
2017 (no raise -3%)
2018 (no raise -3%)
2019 (no raise -3%)
2020 (no raise -3%)
2021 (no raise -3%)
2022 (no raise -3%)
2023 (no raise -3%)

You would need a {30%+(cost of yearly inflation) }pay increase just to get back to a 2014 time frame salary. NEVER HAPPEN! At some point, you DXC'ers are going to have to STOP "pointing the finger" at management and take a HARD LOOK IN THE MIRROR. Remember, ONE finger pointed at "THEM" is THREE fingers pointed at YOU!!!!!!!....make your MOVE, man... Life is short folks...

"We are paid to meet our goals, we haven't met them, that's why there are no raises."

What goals? Management and leadership cannot set a clear strategic direction for this company anymore. They've changed their offerings and services in their town halls so often and so quickly, it's unbelievable. It confuses the business market, it pi---s off the analysts, and alienates the workforce. Particularly, when management throws buzzwords like essential evolution and inflection point around, which do not make a lot of sense to begin with. Don't get me started with how many management shuffles and changes have occurred in the last year, with each new manager adding up to the complexity of it all.

Forget about goals. What does this leadership want from us?

and to save time, here are the salary raises for 2024, 2025 and 2026:
due to ongoing currency headwinds and execution challenges, and late closing deals, the transformation continues to turn the corner but we have shrunk another 5-10% again (per year) so no payrise for anyone below direct-report-to-Mikey2 level. Organically we have grown 300% and are now larger than Accenture, powered by Platform-X-X the new upgraded tool script. As usual there will be a share buyback announced in mid year to prop up the stock price to allow Mike2 his $20-25M salary.
