Remember when you could read the Company's Annual Report and know exactly how much the Company earned in the prior year?

@mn , A priority of the Annual Report is to highlight a variety of clients who use our products with an emphasis on particular sectors hoping to be reached. Field personnel are often included as a marketing tool since the report is used in soliciting prospects. In the past, home office staff were selected to show diversity whether you agree or not.
the annual report does a p-iss poor jobs of highlighting employees who are the back bone of the company. it always Favors officers and RVPs. I've been with Mutual of America for 19 years. 19 years and haven't even sniffed coming close landing in the annual report. what a nice touch would be a few pages each year which highlight 1 year, 5 year, 10 year, 20 year anniversary and have a statement by the employee or a description about what they do. its great to be recognized and the company over the past 5 yrs has lost its touch about how to recognize employee effort and this would be a great way to do it. I know my elderly mother would be tickled pink to see her daughter in a company publication. i realize many of you are laughing at this statement but a small touch like this goes a long way to spur on loyal employees to greatness.
@g3 the comdex score compiles all rating agencies ratings. TIAA has a comdex score of 100. mutual used to be in the mid 95 range a few years ago. now, it is 57. if mutual can raise revenue or gain access to external capital markets soon, then that will continue to hurt w/rating agencies. it also makes it harder for us as actuaries in our dept to obtain outside annutity buyouts.

mutual of america's Comdex score has gone down the tubes. it is a 57 out of 100. ranks 185 out of 215. above junk bond status but not by a hel.luva lot. that is one of the reasons they no longer publish the audited financials in the annual report. got to bury the bad news some how.
been here for 19 years and not once has my face been included in the annual report. my rvp told me i had crooked teeth and corporate only likes to put people with straight teeth in the publication. i thought he was joking but it has been 19 years so he might be just telling the truth.
The annual report was always a marketing and PR piece used to brag about our reputation and sterling results. Our reputation and results are both dogshit now. There’s nothing to brag about. The sorry state of the AR reflects the sorry state of MoA. Sad.
there is a saying which still rings true today. the cover up is worse than the crime+Where is all that hedge fund money invested and one wonders if there is undetected fraud going on+look at Bernie Madeoff+He fooled everyone even the SEC for years+There needs to be a true forensic audit. Follow the money.
