It almost feels intentional, as if my team is being set up to fail. It seems more like attrition by design than anything else. People are so demoralized that no one has the energy to push back. Being laid off with severance is beginning to feel like a win, given Nike's trajectory and compared to being worn down by tactics meant to make you quit or give a reason to fire you.

@me we dont sleep here in CIS
breaking down over what, the fact they get basically 2 weeks off, paid??
They are trying to get us worker bees to break down and mentally just shut down or go crazy so they can fire some if us to save money in the future layoffs. Seen it myself in tech, but we have the most toxic leaders of all.
Pressure yes, our company is in the sh-t hole right now and leadership is heavily under pressure to preform or else they’ll get the wack and naturally that’s cascading down to worker bees in supporting roles.. I’ve seen people breaking down at work prior to going on our power down. It’s really sad. Who knows though if it’s a “being set up to fail” or not. Only time will tell I guess…
generally it's a pretty chill environment minus the management dysfunction or all out lack there of
at least in tech, maybe the OP is not in tech and the demands are higher, but if not and in tech, I donno, relax and enjoy the ride ,go workout and hang on while looking for other work......the future points to a skeleton crew left at phk for gt
Got severance - biggest relief of my career. 2024 and 2025 royally su-ked a-s working there.
Haven’t been happier.
Same. My director used to brag about working on the toilet with his laptop while he was sick. Nike is not a healthy place.
Not going lie, when they laid me off, I was so relived and happy.
