If you work for Coterra, RUN, take that package, the merger of equals moniker is anything but.
You’ll just sit there for a few months until the Devon trogs find a way to save their own necks and axe you instead.

@1tj Coterra pretty similar production and market cap with 1/3 the employee as Devon. I suspect heavy losses on DVN side.
@m5 That’s about 95% of leadership in NM. Only promoted off buddy system
Oh the big D will never relinquish control. Every single employee knows they’d be out on they b
By most all accounts or metrics DVN is 2.5X the size of CTRA and that’s after Cimarex acquired Cabot. DVN leadership will not move out of OKC and there might be some pressure that the local economy would tank if they pulled out quickly.
Moving to Texas? lol
NEBULove coming out of retirement?
@16e what about my sticker on my hardhat?
You will recognize wide track by the lack of lobes and references to the helmet sticker shortage of 2017 because what you allow is what will continue.
Any legacy Mitchell Energy people left around from 2002?
@ve CoC policy only applies to complete takeovers. Not the lives spared due to a transaction being labeled a merger. All affected will get the standard layoff package per company policy.
Yep take it from SWN folks. The CHK deal to make Expand was anything but “expanding” among equals. Many good people were caught off guard as they were put on the streets.
@155 Coterra here: please toss out Wide Track's initials, and throw an anecdote or two my way for context. I could use a laugh
I joke around a lot on here but in all seriousness I have it on good authority that the original Wide Track (not kidding!) now works out of the Carlsbad Coterra field office so...OUR BOY IS COMING HOME. AT LAST!!!!!
You can find the severance info on the company website- under change of control.
What was the severances

This company is not what it used to be. People have been promoted into positions they should not be in, and everyone knows it. The superintendent from Lea County is incompetent, a joke, and a shame to the company, with no real leadership qualities.
Because of this, I will be leaving soon. I have an interview next week and will not be waiting for the merger.
@OP Just go down to the taco bar in NEBU, everything will be ok.
Spoken like a true legacy WPX employee.
