I have heard from several people in the industry that Medtronic has become a known quantity. Candidates are turning down offers and recruiters are struggling to fill roles because everyone knows what it is like to work here.

What is going on with GSC? any recent reorganization? I left MDT a few years ago.
People are desperate. Grocery and gas prices are skyrocketing.
Not sure which roles you’re referring to, OP, but SWE and other technical positions near me are receiving hundreds of applicants per posting. It’s a tough market out there.
Future potential employees, Don't join the new demand planning team or GSC team.
No transition plans, no strategy, just a nightmare of toxicity.
Sustaining engineer sounds like a secure job because you will be fixing poor R&D from India.
When asked, I always respond what are your other options. If there are none better, I suggest only using it as a pit stop to your next job. And then I advise them of the environment advantages or disadvantages depending on what boxes they check.
Honestly ... what young engineer wants to work on sustaining products, while the R&D and Engineering is being sent to India. Just an FYI
