The quarantine and economic fallout is most likely going to be the bullet that does in Sears and Kmart. I won't be surprised if there is an announcement for the rest of the company to liquidate in the coming weeks.
If I'm not mistakened, it's basically the few Kmart stores remaining (which are open as they are considered "essential" as they carry grocery items) that are funnelling any money into the company. Most, if not all of the Sears stores are closed due to being deemed "non-essential". Online sales must be in the single digits as the stores fulfill the orders, and a handful of Kmarts and a smattering of Sears stores not in areas with mandatory closures will not be able to fulfill the orders. If giants like Walmart and Target are running threadbare on things like paper towels, hand sanitizer, disinfectant wipes, etc. what makes you think that Kmart would have these items (which struggled to keep their shelves stocked way before COVID-19 because they didn't pay their suppliers)?
While this COVID-19 fiasco is just merely a momentary inconvenience to companies like Walmart and Target, it is going to prove fatal to Transformco.
