How do we know if this "season" of layoffs are over?
20+ years in, RIFs are never over. However I must say they used to have a season, now its just continuous. I miss working for Chuck Slater.
Not over and another round coming in May/Jun once the sales season is over.
layoffs will be monthly going forward
The only time it'll ever be over is when the company no longer exists. Get used to it!
are you high?
Is everyone else's teams making a big push about 'culture' again? It started up here a few weeks ago just before the bleeding started again.
Well said!!!

Checked back in here after an October RIF. Its so funny to see how the tone changes and I appreciate everyone's candor compared to all those fake a-s meetings and town halls where everyone was writing in the chat box how much they love Anthem, heart emojis, smiley faces and stupid fake rah rah comments...all BS. Check please, literally. I have never worked with such a bunch of phoney kiss as--s in my life and where did it get anybody? Thrown out the door. Might as well learn to be your authentic self at a job, because play acting the yes man/woman obviously doesn't work that well at Elevance.
Been at the company for over fifteen years. Layoffs are NEVER over. It is one of their management tactics to keep everyone in fear of losing their jobs. A sick method of trying to 'manage' people. All it does is ruin employee morale and motivation.
Lay Offs over??? Are we talking about the same company here 😳
Layoffs will not end until every job that can be sent offshore or automated etc...is done and even with that, technology is ever evolving so it makes me believe layoffs are here for the long haul. We can't change what we can't control, so let's plan, grow and learn as much as possible to be prepared as much as possible for the situation at hand. I know...easier said than done, but I say this each day and this helps me get moving to prepare to the best of my ability.
Wake up everyone! Layoffs will never end. It is part to the corporate business model and has been for a very long time. Spend your energy building your future! Use the money and whatever you can learn here and use it to build a better future for you.
Not sure I agree that layoffs are over because our area is still beind tracked and studied for implementation of AI.
I am trying to be realistic on this, but in reality I believe these are.not over. This is not fear mongering, but if we are still being tracked and studied for AI, this leads me to believe more layoffs are coming. I don't know when exactly but heard in an All Associates Meeting by end on 3rd quarter.
At least for now.
