I stopped thinking we were the best when I started reading “Retire in 5”.
The level of financial illiteracy and complete lack of understanding of benefits from people close to retirement age, that had probably completed several financial coaching sessions was astounding.
And we hope those people make good business decisions for the company, when they can’t do that for themselves?!
After the Upstream Reorg, and the team of SUITs disbanded, they anointed the most untalented of the Bunch to become Culture/Behaviors manager. Imagine a geoscientist, without technical skills who had failed in the commercial role, producing podcasts to kiss a–. Highlighting stories of her favorite managers, chiefs, and people she’d love to wine and dine. Awful, slimy, shameful. And someone must have thought that was a great idea and use of time and resources.
Like her those striving to s— up abound in yammer. From the UIS planner who in the middle of the controversy of people being forced to abandon their kids and report to the office posted: “it’s being amazing to be back and see the faces of my coworkers whom I’m missed so much” (he meant his boss). To which the bosses commented: “yes, x y, it is so great”. Like, share.
Not a week later they were exposed to covid.
No post about that.
I guess I just don’t suffer fools lightly.
