Thread regarding Allstate Corp. layoffs

Everywhere is the same

People think things are better at other insurance companies, but they're not. This whole industry is in shambles and everybody is looking how to cut costs any way they can. Usually, that means employees. If you want to improve your situation, you'll leave this whole bloody industry behind.

Not at all. Allstate and everything it handles is not best in class. There are many good organizations out there that treat employees well and I would say Allstate is the outlier.

My experience has been been quite different with other leading carriers

@lnc+1ahtPXmI that is bad advice. Better to start looking sooner, when you have a job, as that looks better from a prospective employer's view. plus, the severance is never guaranteed, and if they are messing with the metrics to increase "with cause" terminations, in many states you won't get unemployment either.

I concur. You are better off sitting tight as painful as it is for another 12 or so months until pandemic subsides and industries get back in better shape. If you get laid off there is still severance and unemployment to draw. I hate working here with a passion but my best bet is to sit tight for now.
